That would make for 5 senior grades - A, A2, B, C & D with possibly 8 teams in each grade.
A & A2 with a combination of 1 & 2 day games whilst the B, C & D grade will be all 1 dayers.
Also heard that Ashbourne will have 3 senior teams along with 2 colts teams.
Great to see the smaller country clubs getting on the front foot and growing their brand instead of merging or folding all together.

Thanks for the update Jackpot Jim. Do you have any idea of the clubs involved in A Grade & A2?

Assuming A Grade - Nairne, Creek, Woodside, Lobethal, Strath, Hahndorf, Ashbourne & Wistow?

Therefore A2 - Nairne, Woodside, Lobethal, Callington, Mt Barker, Strath, Ashbourne & either Maccy or the Creek? - Have heard Echunga looking at B Grade as their top team. The Mylor blokes are going back to Mylor, and a number of "regulars" heading to District/Turf clubs this summer.

Also hear that 1 A&EH club is set for quite an exodus of players - as many as a dozen, not all A graders, either looking elswhere, or not playing at all -

you're right with the 8 'A' grade teams.
Not real sure of the 8 'A2' teams but pretty sure that L.Creek are having a 'B' grade and not a 'A2' side.
Milang is in doubt of fielding a senior team ???
Tarque Williamson not at the Creek this year ???

Oh yeah, left out the Mozzies, shame if they have no seniors though.

Where is Tarque off to now?

Tarque has been shopping himself around.

I know a club in the city that was keen until they enquired what remuneration he was chasing.

Not sure how much he would've been asking for but i know how much he was getting at the Creek and it certainly wasn't a lot taking into account the amount of time he put into trainings twice a week along with the travel factor as well.

Would not have thought he was shopping himself around Dutchy, he knows a lot of people in the cricket circle. Probably them approaching him with a figure while having a beer a mucking around, jackpot is spot on too. Knowing him he will probably go back to Meadows just to play not coach or traveling up on weekends to Riverton to play with his mate JV for the love of cricket. 8)

Fair call, as the club I know that had a chat to him approached him not vice versa, shop around is the wrong phrase to use.

Does anyone know when the A&EH draw will be finalised, and published?

Cheers

Final TVCA meeting was held the other night. All 8 clubs to field an A Grade and a B Grade. So Birdwood will have a B Grade for the first time in a while, while Mt Torrens will only field one B Grade this season. Season starts 13th.

4 clubs look likely to form an Under 10/11s comp.

Early predictions would have the Pirates the team to beat again. Gumeracha the best of the rest. Not much news around really, other than a few clubs struggling a bit for depth.

My tips for Rd 1
Nairne
Hahndorf ( Creeks will be lucky to field 1/2 of last years GF team in Rd 1)
Strath
Woodside

Top 4 tips - Lobethal. Nairne, Strath & Woodside.

My Tips for Rd 1

Nairne
Creek - 1/2 a team may be enough!
No Play at Strath! Deck not suitable to play on yet....
Woodside

Top 4 - Nairne, Woodsie, Lobethal, Strath or the Creek. Ashbourne & Hahndorf to battle for the spoon.

To early to tell I guess but are A&EH talking promotion/relugation to A2's?

Interesting that the Strath v Wistow game is programmed at Strath. The turf pitches at this time of year are struggling to get a decent grass cover so soon after footy but Cuzzy i'm sure has things under control there.
Interesting that Cuzzy has also been appointed curator at the 'Creek'. In the space of about 9 months, he has replaced 2 curators with a combined total of about 65 years of tending the local turf at Strath & Langhornes. I'm sure he'll do a great job.

In regards to promotion/relegation, i'm sure it'll be discussed during the season but as clubs ambitions and desires change so much from year to year as to what form/structure the 'A' grade comp should take, it's hard to really formulate something.

Strath are a chance if they get to play with a 4 piece ball, or perhaps an 8 piece, or 16, 32, or even a 64 piece

Yeah, i heard there was a push from Strath to have all turf pitch venues to use 4 piece balls and 2 piece to remain being used on the artrificial tracks.
Dont know if anything has come of it?
Would be surprised if it did.
Havent heard of any problems, complaints, issues etc with using the Kooka Tuff Pitch 2 piece balls on turf for the last 30 years so dont really see a need to change now.

I heard the 4 piece push was coming from Strath CC only but that other clubs were not really interested and were happy with the tuf pitch balls.
