Dare say there would not have been a game on Henley if one had been programmed this weekend. Outfield is looking closer to a paddock than a cricket ground at the moment after having 15 footy teams running around on it for the past 6 months. I'm sure Trent will do a stellar job at getting the decks up by R1 but the outfield might take a little while to bounce back. A bit more of this sunny weather will only help though.

Perti is coming along ok, the work the club has done on the pitch over the past 2 years means it bounces back quicker after footy season. Will definately be playable for Monday

Glandore looking alright, although your deep cover/deep midwicket fieldsmen will need to bring their spade and bucket!

TTG started ok with the the ball but couldnt break the kelvin and james smith partnership. They then took hold and wast until james skied one to deep mid... after that TTG wrestled back the momentum. Good disciplined bowling meant they went from looking @280ish to restricting them to 180.

early wickets meant we were 4/50odd early then Diesel 83no and Habbers 53no got the lads home

The highlight was Jake belting Georgey back over his head for maximum.....

Now for the stupid thing about the rule change to removing compulsory declarations:

Do West Torrens declare and give themselves the full 96 overs to dismiss a very strong Kensington batting lineup but run the risk of losing?

or

Do West Torrens bat on and deny themselves overs to bowl Kensington out, improving Kensington's chance for a draw?

The new rule is definitely slanted in favour of the team batting second. The team batting first HAS to take all ten wickets to win, whilst the team batting second can win by taking no wickets but having the team batting first declare.

Bad News for Max Klinger, doesnt look in good shape after popping his shoulder trying to take a catch in the out field today. Anyone know how bad the injury is?

Uni 207 or thereabouts

Cooper 125
Thornton 55

Sturt 5/103 Stumps

Left arm spinner Young with a few wickets. Turns them a mile. Believe he only just jumped off a plane from England as well.

Speculation at the ground was it could be up to a month. Didn't look good - spectacular attempt at a catch he almost pulled off. Very sad for Max but could Kelvin Smith possibly be called up to replace him?

Botha and Christian need to come in which could push Cooper or Miller up the order to open.
