Gillard should go!

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Sorry couldn't help but laugh at that last comment. Labor, now more than ever, is the party all about wealth distribution and helping people who do not wish to help themselves.

Australia, the country of the handout...

.. and why should a party not be interested in assisting those who are struggling in the community???

With your poster boys closing half of Glenside so that Rann dick can open a film studio to pay off his arts loving wifey for banging a bar maid, while my 86yo Dad is stuck in the Geriatric ward of the RAH being treated for severe depression & anxiety for 3 weeks while we desperately wait for a Psychiatric bed.
Is that your idea of the '' struggling in the community '' ?
Or just those eternally feeding off the gravy train?

Sheik, sorry to hear of your father's condition. Praying that there will be brighter days ahead.

Gillard's speech at the Bali service today was very ordinary IMO. John Howard's was also shallow and predictable. Both scared sh1tless of offending Muslims, so weak as p1ss really.

Oh FFS now she swans into Afghanistan complete with crash hat and flack jacket. Stage managed exit from the RAAF transport plane followed by a hand shake with the seriously corrupt and ineffectual Afghan leader Karzi (or however you spell it) before chatting with a few hand picked Labor voting troops in front of the media. Appalling. She should go. As quickly as possible.

True, sounds almost identical to what Tony Abbott has done a few times there - too stage-managed ;)

Labours spin machine is in full launch mode now to ensure Gillard gets a favourable leg up in the lead up to next years election. Nothing will be left undone as they massage facts, figures and philosophies to appeal to the masses. Credibility is out the window.

Interesting, isn't it, that all the statistics do support everything Labor has been saying whilst pretty much negating everything the Liberals are spinning!!! ;)

There are some times that Liberal voters remind me of the 'Flat Earth Society'. Put all the evidence in front of them and they will state that the evidence is false, tampered with, massaged.

Firstly, they refuse to accept what Climate Scientists have been telling them for years about global warming, saying that it is all 'hocus-pocus'.

Secondly, they state that the Carbon Tax will cause the end of the world as we know it. Yet, in reality it causes barely a whimper and they find that they are more than adequately compensated for by the assistance package.

The case last week of Tony Abbott incorrectly claiming that the cause of a pensioner's electricity bill doubling was the result of the carbon tax was laughable. It doubled because her consumption doubled. ;)

Thirdly, they refuse to accept that Australia's level of debt is very minor compared to the rest of the world and compared to our own history. Placing it in dollar terms makes it sound high, but compared to Australia's annual income, it is very low.

Fourthly, claims that Australia's unemployment rate is rocketing out of control when the only state it has actually been increasing in by any extent in is Queensland and that was due to LNP policies.

Sorry, that was a bit of a harsh post from me.
However, to say that the Labor Party produces huge spin and the Liberal Party doesn't made me just about cough up my Weeties!! ;)

I'm not normally one for defending Julia, but this will be twice in about 3 days now!
I didn't see her on a chopper but did see her in what looked like a C-17 aircraft. If you've ever flown on one of them, into a combat zone, you'd know they are notoriously uncomfortable, rocky and nauseous trips!
Funny thing is, the whole ADF cant wait for the next election to vote her out...

Are you muppets the full quid? He says the whole of the ADF want the PM gone (in reality it would probably be around 50%), I ask for some sort of proof for such an outlandish statement and then you get scoob running in declaring anecdotes can't be voiced!

From what I've heard no senior citizens will ve voting for the Libs at the next election (eg an old guy I know votes Labor).

Have you got some proof in the form of a reliable poll for that statement?

If they aren't already waiting for the opportunity now, they may be soon.
The government has just given Medibank the contract to supply health services to ADF personnel.
Medibank have written to specialists to say that they will be running a central specialist referral service, and specialists who want their referrals must sign a contract accepting much reduced fees.
Specialists are NOT signing up, in droves...

Until now, ADF approved GPs could refer to whoever they thought was the best specialist for the job, and the ADF paid the full AMA fee.

(Source: my discussions be email with colleagues in several states on our Private Practice Network and other medical sites.)
Here is a public report: http://www.theage.com.au/opinion/politi ... 27n26.html

The ALP:
Cutting supporting mother benefits...
Restricting ADF healthcare to less highly regarded specialists...
