That's no way to talk about his new girlfriend.

You may be right on the money, but anytime you rely on too many young players it's hard because they will be somewhat inconsistent, but there is certainly nice upside if they gel early for you!

Frankly it wouldn't be that hard for the Eagles to improve on last year. Maybe not in terms of the finishing position, but in terms of how we played for most of our matches. I think Ainger and Kirk are good pickups but Greiger and Macca are irreplaceable and without some speed in the midfield I wouldn't be confident we could challenge for the flag in 2013. I think as individuals a lot of the players who had ordinary years last year (e.g. Lewis, Grocke, Powell) are going to have to be in really top form.

If the up and coming youngsters are too consistent then they won't be around for long. I would therefore like to see my mob not rely quite so heavily on the juniors.

No they didn't, they finished 4th at the end of the season, they finished 2nd at the end of the minor round.

I think a nice mixture is the way to go really.
Are you sold on Massie though? The coach is huge in what can and can't be achieved. It's hard to get one that's great at development while being an excellent gameday motivater/ strategist.
Seems like Massie did a very good job with your juniors previously, but are things really any better without Mickan?
Now A.Jarhead would have been pretty good on gameday, but forget about bringing on the younger players ie. Adam Grocke

Unless there's several seriously dominant ruckmen in the competition (and by that I mean the complete package of hitouts, and a towering overhead presence in open play), I think ruck has become a position that can be covered by either an exceptional midfield and/or a negating ruckman.

I don't think there's too many ruckmen that fall i to that category these days, Giles was probably the most recent of them that I can remember.

Norwood's dominance this year certainly proves your point. The best ruckman I have seen for a long time was buckets Mackenzie. He dominated both in the ruck and around the ground. Some of his ruckwork was uncanny. We miss him - but if Hanath stays he has the potential to be as good.

Any ruckmen with half decent potential are snapped up in the AFL draft so we have to learn to live with non dominant rucks.
Yes McKenzie was the best going around for a long time but I certainly don't miss him ;)

Hannath is a good chance to be picked up but still doesn't do enough around the grounds for mine. That said, he carried the weight of number 1 at Central all year so had a heavy work load.

Buckets was a brilliant ruckman with one of the best football brains I've ever seen. Still in good touch as well, sharing the medal for best player in the Barossa League this year with Kapunda.

You obviously think we are going to make the Grand Final if you think that Trembath is going to reach 50 games next year, and as for McGinty, Hender and Pitt...
There is still no guarantee that any of those players will reach 50 games for Glenelg, let alone 100. (none have played 40 yet)
