What was the madate given to the SFL committee with regards to the Future of the SFL. I was of the understanding it was to investigate two divisions. The document does not appear to address this issue.

The mandate for the "Future Directions Committee" was to explore all options for the future of the SFL. 2 Divisions was certainly in there to be discussed, but unlike some seem to think, this committee was not set up to assure that 2 divisions would be implemented. Not sure how much real will there is to get 2 divs over the line and of course there are big stumbling blocks with middle of the table clubs that fear being put in Div 2. So far it seems every option has been examined, but very thinly, therefore any hopes of any major change soon would be unlikely. It's a pity as the league desperately needs strong decisions to be made to ensure the quality of the comp.

Warman had already got on the front foot by saying that there would be no Div 2 in 2013, but there has also been the heavy specualtion of defecting HFL clubs that may have forced the decision. Still have not really heard anything on those defections either. There's an awful lot of water to go under the bridge yet, so wouldn't be holding my breath for any big changes.

review all aspects of junior football from under 8 up to and including under 18 football

Further on 10 September BOD minutes reflect that.

"Further review required by FDC on their main task of two divisions"

Seems the SFL has not told the right hand what is going on or people have pushed their own agenda. FDC as appear to have taken it upon themselves to review all aspects of football not just what they were madated to review.They have not even addressed TWO DIVISIONS.

It seems to me that the FDC has not addressed the main issue, the unevenness of the A Grade. This issue has been totally disregarded. Until this is addressed the same issues will apply. Window dressing the grades below will not solve this problem. I wonder if consultation was done with SANFL clubs or other leagues. If not it is the same people looking at the problems. Surely you would be researching outside of the league.

On the proposals for the junior grades, the thing that a tracked me to this league was the defined path to senior footy ie U14, U16, U18. To create a mickey mouse grade for Saturdays is just crap. The secret to fielding an U18 side is hard work. This proposal of a third senior side would not work in its current format. Some blokes would struggle to get to a game for a 11.10 start.

I fail to see the reasons behind the proposals put forward. Where is the talk about what is the best development path for our juniors. It is not just about pandering to college kids on a Sunday. We all have a responsibility to provide the best development opportunity for the majority of our juniors who play on a Saturday. Putting the majority on a Sunday, may not suit parents and players. Back to development, we are currently aligned with our Saturday football to the SANFL and the U18 in the AFL. WHY WOULD WE CHANGE. We are currently giving our juniors the best chance to play SANFL and ultimately AFL.

Hard work is required to get juniors to play for your club. I applaud Hackham for the hardwork they have put in to get U18 up and playing. It was a pleasure to watch their U18 this year. They played a great style of footy and were rewarded with a finals appearance. Well done.

Lets look at fixing the A Grade instead of skirting around the issue. If the current SFL BOD won't do it, move on a lets some who will take over. Blind freddy can see that the SFL has too many clubs for A Grade, fix that and some of the junior issues will take care of themselves.

Afl flyer you guys say that every year with every player. It's getting a little tiring or do you actually believe all these big recruits that you pick up year in year out that stay for a year or two them leave for bigger coin. or maybe you guys just consider big coin to be different to what other sfl clubs do. Not having a go but each year you guys defend your club that it doesnt pay and people just want to jump on board for love. Not talking about this player in particular but you need to be realistic

Over the last 5 years, safoot's very own P32, ware,butcher are the only noteable recruits that i can think of that havent paleyed juniors at RFC.
the guys that left this year, left for money, you can't blame them fo that.
The recruiting and payments down there would be nothing compared to the likes of M.P, shoes and probably equal to strong clubs like HV,MV,Brighton,porties etc

My reasons were always on here from the start, I was coaching senior level basketball and had to play closer to home and when picking a club I wanted an opportunity to try and play in a premiership. I spoke to Flagstaff who were around the corner, Marion and M/P because they were near my basketball club and Reynella because they were close and I read on here they needed help in the ruck. In hindsight I made a great decision.
I know what some of the guys were on and I can tell you compared to what they are on now or have been offered it was less than a quarter!
I think like Morphett Vale have done in the past, the club were happy the players stuck around to play in a Premiership and understand after doing so there is the opportunity to make some good money and have given their blessing to do so in hope they return later. This year I think you will see quite a few players return, as once you play for a club for so long it is hard to find another club that is as enjoyable than playing with all of your friends.

A real positive for reynella that's for sure, just wish something like this would happen at m/vale, players go away for a season or two then return.
IMO though to challenge valley on this seaons form, reynella will need alot more than those 4.
