But unlike some, I don’t see AFL players as supreme beings. It’s not as though you have to be
a football god to get drafted. For donkey’s years our clubs have seen good useful players here
suddenly touted as superstars over the border. It’s amazing what a crowd of 50,000+ screaming
morons and a Mack truck full of moolah can do to a bloke’s performance.
But hey, they’re still the same bloke.

As any coach might tell a rookie playing on a seasoned veteran, “He’s just flesh and blood mate.”
I keep taking the 2012 Norwood team and adding McGuinness, Campbell and Newton plus half a
dozen blokes stolen by Andy’s circus and I reckon you’d have a pretty formidable combo at any
level. I don’t know all the AFL players other clubs have lost, but I dare say most clubs could field
teams that would do plenty of damage to some AFL egos. Remember too that old adage about a
‘champion team’ beating a ‘team of champions’ when the chips are really down.

Nah, I’m not impressed by the media hoopla. Given ALL our players, I still reckon there’s a lot less
between leagues than most people believe. It's a damned shame we don't get to prove it.
:D
Luv,
SABRE.

 I agree with you - but remember it's a double edged sword - the gap between SANFL and other leagues is closer than many on here imagine.
We used to be good :-(

:D
EXACTLY ‘Doggies’ !
You’re pointing out the other half of what I’m getting at mate.

What’s wrong with a GF between the Cobdogla Cartwheelers and the Wagga Wagga Wankers if they’re good enough to get to the top? A true national competition should be based on relegated divisions of REAL clubs Australia wide. Not just a bunch of fat cat Melbourne clubs and the made up plastic rubbish they’ve imposed on SA, WA, NSW and QLD.

I want to watch sport! Not corporate greed!

State League Clubs Confirmed
VFL: Port Melbourne, Werribee
SANFL: Norwood, West Adelaide
WAFL: Claremont, East Fremantle
NEAFL (NC): NT Thunder, Southport
NEAFL (EC): Queanbeyan
TSL: Burnie

teams above have been confirmed as playing. Claremont vs Norwood would be an interesting game!
surely the bumped up prize money will make clubs take is seriously.

Interesting if the case

A) 10 teams

Hopefully
NT Thunder, Burnie, Southport & Queanbeyan play in the first round "Wild card"
to get numbers down to 8 teams.

Then everyone plays in the second round.

B) Premiers Missing

So VFL Premier Geelong not participating?

What about the Brisbane Lions who won the NEAFL overall?

Werribee & Southport didn't even make a Grand Final

Perhaps if the SANFL programmes double byes, Norwood or West can play a foxtel cup in the first week of a two week bye? Maybe the clubs would play stong sides if that was the programming, especially if either had to travel to Perth.

The money's irrelevent, it was more than the SANFL prior to the increase anyway.
I'm spewing North didn't make it, its a great comp to be involved with.
Also spewing Geelong aren't in it as they'd dominate.

I think the reason North beat Centrals by over 10 goals in the finals was because of our experience in the Foxtel Cup the year before, if Centrals had the balls to play against other teams perhaps they would have been more battle hardened in the semi and put up more of a fight.

I dont think so Wedgie from my observations as a hard core Central supporter i have to say because of numerous injuries the dogs have had a tough couple of years compared to the period 2000 to 2010 and have been unable to field a consistent group of league players week after week Central were very very lucky to make the Grand Final last year and also the finals this yea anyhow back to the FORXTEL i still think it is a farce if they are serious maybe have a real AFL reserves comp and call it the FORXTEL CUP.

Punctuation marks are symbols that indicate the structure and organization of written language, as well as intonation and pauses to be observed when reading aloud.

In written English, punctuation is vital to disambiguate the meaning of sentences. For example, "woman, without her man, is nothing" (emphasizing the importance of men) and "woman: without her, man is nothing" (emphasizing the importance of women) have greatly different meanings, as do "eats shoots and leaves" (to mean "consumes plant growths") and "eats, shoots and leaves" (to mean "eats firstly, fires a weapon secondly, and leaves the scene thirdly").[1]

The rules of punctuation vary with language, location, register and time and are constantly evolving. Certain aspects of punctuation are stylistic and are thus the author's (or editor's) choice. Tachygraphic language forms, such as those used in online chat and text messages, may have wildly different rules. For English usage, see the articles on specific punctuation marks.
