Fuxtel f*****g cup ???
What an insult !!!
Obviously the AFL and Sydney Swans are far too f*****g scared of Norwood, West, North, Centrals etc etc !
:ymbringiton:
C'mon, bring it on ya gutless @rseholes !!!

As much as I love Norwood im sorry to say we wouldnt get within 15 goals of most AFL sides.
The standard of the SANFL isnt anywhere near what it used to be.
I doubt an SANFL club would be able to beat GWS

You are aware GWS competed in the foxtel cup and got Absolutely destroyed!!!!

In year 1 of the comp before they entered the AFL. They didnt have Scully, Davis or any of their recruits at that stage, they were just a bunch of 17yo's
I wouldnt think we would get close now

Correct

By the Northern Bullants ... now Northern Blues of the VFL

Bullants 19.9.123
Giants 5.4.34

That said this was the Giants pre AFL so was full of 17-18 yo kids without later recruits such as Brogan, Cornes, Davis etc.

I did not know that Norwood has a hyper libido and is so easily satisfied !
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Hit em hard let them get up and hit em again.

Now that the Foxtel Cup is a pre season setup and more prize money is on the table, I say well done to the teams that wouldn't participate earlier, they may have inadvertently changed the format ! I'm with Fester, a road trip to the MCG would be brilliant! Or perhaps Perth to take on Claremont, where our zone would shut down their running game. Go you 'legs!

How  saying that, talk about negative! Football should NOT be 2-1 at Half Time. Youv'e just made most footy lovers hope Claremont run riot all over your mob despite state pride!

Go the CLAREMONT TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

as much as the idea of a national Cup sounds good remember that clubs will still only field weaks teams...... Claremont's response to last years win deomonstrated how little this cup means

Are you serious? You've obviously a short memory. I'll tell you what was embarrassing, the results of the other SANFL clubs effort in last years Foxtel Cup! Some of those results were pathetic. At least my club is going in it to win it and not just make up the numbers.Meanwhile go home and watch your team lose a grand final by 125 points and at least in your mind smile in the knowledge that your team played attractive and attacking football! Unbelievable.

Why should the club do anything that doesn't suit them?

" Now that it suits us " is exactly the point as also demonstarated by Centrals and Eagles. I think Glenelg knocked it back too.
If all teams said no the effort is not worth the reward then right from the start the Foxtel Cup may well have been set up properly like it appears to be now.

Let's see what Norwood do heh, but if they end up playing half a team like West did, lose, then will you concede it's a joke.... somehow I know the excuses will flow!
I think Norwood should play as many games extra as they can, West too,
it can only help the other 7 teams catch up.
I wish I could watch live ROX OFF Cup games .... so jealous

I have always liked the idea of my club playing against other clubs from interstate. In fact I mentioned it on this forum somewhere that the format had to improve for it to be viable and remotely interesting. This has happened, eg more prize money, no games during the bye in our comp, less rounds and less teams. As I said earlier kudos to the 3 SANFL who turned it down, they have probably contributed to the improvements! Spargo, keep moving the goalposts, we're in it to win it, I said. Holden, I would be very disappointed if Norwood played a reserves side and were thrashed. Who mentioned excuses, wont be coming from us.

I'm still not very interested in the Foxtel Cup.
If it gets to free-to-air at some stage, and Norwood are playing I may watch a match or two.

Sorry if repeating myself pushed your tolerance too far.
I've been a bit distracted in the last couple of weeks and doing SA Footy catch ups in spare moments.
(I'm tidying up the house, installing essentials on a new laptop while earning how W8 works, and packing to fly to WA next week.)
