That's cheating.

  I'm dirty! Backed Enfield in, thought they were a real sniff and then dish up that! Breaks my heart.. =(( still have a soft spot for my old club!

they call it a 2 dayer for a reason PG ;) with a lead of only 35 odd runs and Pidge in bat you can understand why we still think were a chance  what we do have on our side is just like us Fitzroy's batting isnt the strongest part of their game! should make for a very interesting second week!!

I actually think batting is our strongest part of our game, no proof this season, its probably the application of talent that is lacking, but yeah this game is shaping up to be a belter and may go to the 5:14pm till we get an outright winner.

Goat Herder, is there an U23's this year, i seem to recall from the memory bank that there isnt but the memory bank has never been all that trustworthy.

The 1st training last night was well-attended (approx a dozen) by some of the finest talent within the Association, with around half a dozen apologies personally passed on. Really encouraging and quite exciting. Some very tough decisions to be made if all of these players put up their hands for the 13 available spots.

The team hierachy/leadership will be decided closer to when the final squad will be announced. All spots, including leadership spots, are up for grabs. Granted however that given Dutchy's efforts and performances over the last 2-3yrs as skipper of our Association side, he will certainly be in the running for the team captaincy, along with 2-3 others who show possess & display great leadership around the group in various ways.

It all augers well for putting together a quality team unit, more than capable of seriously challenging for the national title. 8)

I've perused this comp and on form and talent I believe the Association Squad should look similar to this

S.Neal (c)
T.Hodson
J.Smith
A.Macdonald (vc)
A.Wehrman (all rounder)
P.Atkins (all rounder)
A.Harris (wk)
A.Balding
J.Clark
A.Gully
R.Zuliamis
G.Herbert
J.McLeod (young, project player, in form and back up batter)

Good balance of all types and nobody picked on reputation alone.

If you're looking for a Chairman of Selectors give me a buzz GH ;)

Not a bad side mate. Nealy is not available, however and MRZ would be LHAO at the suggestion of him being in the side, although form would dictate otherwise.

As for the CoS offer, we can always benefit from having Jugs around the team for motivation and team morale. 8)

Ahh, this must be the O'Gorman component of 'moses', as evidenced by the complete absence of cricketing nouse and lack of historical fact about C&CCA.

How about you ask him yourself whether he's interested in the Carnival? ;) The trainings are open to everyone, all spots are up for grabs etc, etc, ad nauseum, blah, blah, blah..

Just to fill your clueless self in on a few facts, Raf' and I go back quite a number of years and worked well together during the 2006 Carny when he was V/C of the SA Gold side (appointed by yours truly, dipsh!t... ) and have worked closely together on the fund-raising committee for each Carnival ever since. History lesson over.. ;)

Next time before you open your over-sized trap and make an ass of yourself, maybe take a bit of time to do some research on the topic you're flapping your jaws about. You might save yourself some embarrassment. 8-}
