Once in a while when my memory gets dim I sit down to watch an entire game of soccer and 9 times out of 10 the refs ruin it with inconsistency especially in regard to yellow/red cards.
Thanks for keeping the run going tonight at Emirates ref.
Game ruined, switching over to darts.

It was the correct call, double footed sliding challenge nothing more than a direct red
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Agreed, just like the 4 or 5 tackles I see against Spurs players every game that get yellow cards or less.
Consistency would be nice.
It seems the trick in the EPL is to dive at every opportunity and something the spurs players (although to the detrminent of the game) need to learn to do as it gets the Manchester sides, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea further than they do.
Australia should put their Olympic diving team in the EPL, they'd finish 20 points clear of any side.
Nah I take that back, they still wouldn't dive as well.

Most soccer games be they EPL or A League are decided by refereeing inconsistencies.

Sad part about it is the A league is even worse when it comes to refereeing inconsistencies deciding results, thank christ real football isn't like that, well not to the same degree.

Just saw it and reckon Wedgehead is spot on .. To the letter of the law it's a straight Red, but typical Howard Webb looking after the "bigger" club .. IMHO there's no way in a game like this that should have been a send off

Would be pretty inconsistent if your giving red cards based on how big a game it is!

It's a red every day of the week, he was in the air, the studs were showing and connected, he missed the ball, there was no other decision it could be

Thats the problem. It isnt a red card every day of the week. Only some weeks when its against certain teams. Hardly clipped him wih one boot yet Ive seen two feet connect wih shins only given a yellow or less.
Consistency and the same rules for all clubs might make soccer a reputable game, even sport.
Thank christ for real football that only very rarely has games decided by inconsistent decisions due to the nature of the sport.

Really I must be smashed every time I watch football, nearly every single time I see a player leap in the air double footed studs up miss the ball it's a red.

Granted there's inconsistency with yellows and second yellows

I dont think Adebayor can complain, because technically as I said the decision is correct, but given the mood, moment and intent, I dont think it was a great call.

Oh well, Bully will like Howard again ;)

OMG. Some of these Arsenal players would fall over if they copped a near miss playing a computer game. Bed time for me. Not sure why I ever bother watching this joke of a game that is decided by who falls over the most dramstically.
Note to Arsenal: At least hold the body part that is close to any sort of contact.

See I reckon from the games I see it's still inconsistent, and the bigger, better supported clubs are generally the beneficiaries .. One day that might include Tottenham ;)

Flicked on the soccer at the 25min tott 1-0 up.

Got on the laptop looked at sports bet noted tott were paying $3.60 live betting for the win with a draw no bet.

Went outside to ring sportsbet to place a bet on it, by the time I gave my Id the bet was suspended

Arsenal had scored to make it 1-1 I said to not worry about it

Didn't know tott were down to ten men

Phew

Agreed terrible tackle, straight red every day of the week.
Adebayor is a filthy prick and has a habit of getting sent off.
Has killed the game off as a spectacle but I admire AVB for going for it and not shutting the game down.
A man down he could have put 6 behind the ball and suffered a 1-1 draw or narrow loss but he has kept some structure and was even playing 3 upfront at times
