Eliz Vs Kenilworth for those around from 2005.
Eliz Vs Brahma Lodge has developed into a great rivalry, ESP after that awesome Prelim final!
Eliz Vs Plympton is always a cracker as well

But u can't go past a Eliz Vs Smithfield derby! Nothin better than beatin' those pricks! ;)

please, mild compared to the 70's and 80's - that only enhanced it
unfortunately like ships in the night we pass each other this year

I like the idea of starting to play for a trophy and name it after great club legends with some rivals; obviously you wouldnt do it with every club...thoughts

Mitchell Park and Ingle Farm have been going at it for over 10 years. The Lions beat them in the 2002 Grand Final. But I guess everyone doesn't have much like for the Lions, i.e. Col Lt Gdns, Sacred Heart, Henley and now TTG.

Portland and Mitcham have built a very healthy rivalry in recent times. Both teams seem to share a mutual hate for each other.

The Portland v Pt Districts is the other one that has already been mentioned. First time these clubs have played against eachother since Rivvies days (I know we aren't riverside). All games were very physical with alot to be won at the end of the game.

Pt Districts and Henley would have to be my 2 favourite teams to beat. (mainly as a junior in the MWJFL they were always the team to beat? so having a win against them was extra satisfying!

I always looked forward to Golden Grove and Mitchell Park when i was still having a kick and Para Hills always had that local derby rivalry attached to it (personally, i enjoyed going back to Para Hills for a game as i played at both clubs.). Got a feeling the Para Hills rivalry will be increased if we happen to meet up in the next couple of years ;)

from my experience

ya cant beat the Port Districts vs Henley matches

but now that one team has to wear an all white guernsey its changed the experience of jumper vs jumper

plus the plain all black port districts jumper is kinda crap now :P looks like a training jumper

the old port districts black n white hoops vs the sharks jumper always the match worth waiting for

our a-grade now tend to see the Goodwood matches or Broadview matches as the big ones over past 10 years

having adelaide uni back is great, but again the all white jumpers come into play again zzzzz

I am by no means a fan of Port Districts but the black guernsey is 100% better than that dog's breakfast they were wearing prior to that.

For the record, their current jumper pre dates the hooped guernsey.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

The Portland-Mitcham rivalry goes back to at least 2000. Portland won the Div 4 premiership that year and only dropped 2 games for the season, both to Mitcham.

Uni v SPOc is an old rivalry dating back to when Uni students had to play for uni regardless of affiliation.
It's a battle of ideologies - we're poofs, they're faggotts; we drive terrorities they drive jeeps: we leave the crust on our cucumber sandwiches, they cut theirs off.

Weirdly, they really really hate the Blacks even though there's a lot of crossover between the clubs.

Kilburn vs the old Rivvies was as tough and hard as you will ever see. I have great memories of being on both sides of the aggression and used to get a great laugh when Rivvies had to play Kilburn at Blair Athol reserve, they would say they were playing us at the Zoo! Still great mates with quite a few of them and am looking forward to Kilburn vs Portland this year. As Jimmy 041 stated Portland aren't Rivvies but the old stagers are still their supporting them so Wareing's and company see you then!

NW. You were never on both sides of the aggression at all. You were the one dishing it out, and regularly :D :D Was a Zoo at Blair Athol Reserve, as I used to tell you all the time. Filthy Kilburn players lol. Funniest memory of all NW was the day you organised GB to video tape your innings at Scotch College and that of the Kilburn side and we made 9/460, but NW made O and the filming of your innings, only took a few minutes. You did declare late in the day however, so someone could not get their 50 as a form of revenge for the senseless sledging of the captain, on that day. Think big Grenville also had a fair bit to say that day as well. lol. Think we gave you stick all day that day, and walked you off with daddles the duck. Funny days and good memories from old Kilburn and Riverside days and being part of both. Portland is not Riverside though, and not even close.
