To win the AFC
Broncos $2.20
Pats $2.50
Texans $6
Ravens $12
Bengals $23
Colts $34
To Win the NFC
Falcons $3.25
49ers $3.25
Packers $4
Seahawks $7.50
Redskins $8
Vikings $19
Could be some very interesting playoffs. Here's my thoughts on each team's chances:
AFCBroncos: doubts about their quality with them being in a weak division, but I will have more confidence in them going all the way if they win in the divisional round.
Patriots: also qualified in a weak division but I have a bit more confidence in them as they have proven in past years that they are a good team - whether they are still that good will be seen over the next month.
Texans: disappointing in the last few weeks and I think will struggle to get past the wildcard weekend.
Ravens: I think they have a better team now than any other time in the last 5 or so years that they have been in and around playoff calculations, so are a good chance to get to the Superbowl.
Bengals: are in some good form and come up against the Texans so I can see them getting through the wildcard game and possibly could offer some surprises, but could also get stage fright given their lack of playoff contention in recent years.
Colts: solid team but I can't see them getting past the Ravens in the wildcard game.
NFCFalcons: I think their lack of recent playoff success will be the biggest thing stopping them from getting to the Superbowl - home-field advantage should be enough to see them beat other teams that come up against them.
49ers: I don't think they have the class to be a Superbowl winning team but could easily make it if the Falcons fall over in the divisional round.
Packers: will probably need to win 3 tough games to make the Superbowl, which I don't think they will be able to do.
Redskins: might win the wildcard game but won't make it any further.
Seahawks: a better team than 2 years ago when they almost made the championship game after qualifying with a 7-9 record, but will struggle to win 3 games on the road - meeting the 49ers in the divisional round will be their best chance to make it to the championship game.
Vikings: ideal wildcard game for them, but won't go any further if they are able to beat the Packers.
In the AFC I think that the Ravens and Bengals are good value - it's quite possible to see this match up for the championship game. The Broncos are too short for being a somewhat unknown quantity.
In the NFC the winner should come from the top 3 seeds - if any of these make the championship game, the home team should win. Otherwise if there was an even playing field (ie. no home field advantage) I like the Seahawks, but it will be too difficult for them from the 5th seed.
