Some huge games coming up in the next two weekend where 3 matches are played.

Risdons have SP twice and Wandies once, all on the brilliant port oval, While wandies double up against warnertown.
We could have a clear idea of the 4 after these weekends matches

Some very forthright comments by The Recorder's cricket writer in today's edition regarding the Risdon Cricket Club.
Obviously a very disappointing result for Risdon in the A Grade match against Solomontown last weekend, but to suggest that the B grade are not helping the A grade side is an uninformed and lazy comment that smacks of bias.
Surely The Recorder's cricket writer has sufficient time on his hands to make inquiries into the issue if he feels so strongly about it rather than just publish an incorrect comment that Risdon CC's B graders "choose not to play [A grade] for reasons' unknown". I would have thought he has plenty of time to make those inquiries if he feels so strongly about the issue.
I don't recall seeing a similar comment in The Recorder when last year's Props CC's A grade captain played B Grade earlier this year.

Personal agendas have influenced the paper, this kind of thing would not happen under AD's watch in Naracoorte.

Slap in the face to Risdon CC. I guess playing with your mates and enjoying cricket is not good enough.

Hes a big hero writing it behind their backs

did we ever find out why he was playing b grade at the start of the year ppl?
surely you would try to captain the a grade to a third straight premiership, rather than stopping after two? Unless he didn't want to play a grade all year only to play the grand final on a sunday again!!!

Ok lets be honest
Bats have some reat a grade quality players
south port as well
Sollies had mcintyre (not now)
Props well got kids
PT g has fluff, but hes the heart and soul of that club

There is alot of clubs who have a grade quality in b grade- at their choice, which i cant see a problem with!
Risdonz is exagerated because their a grade is struggling and a few lads probably arent a grade quality- btu they front up play 50 overs in the heat and never forfeit- thats gotta give them some admiration, surely?

As fro Risdonz b grade, it may be their current season where they arent unbeatable, but i think theyve improved their attitude abi and I know when weve played them this year its been 1 a great game and 2 in good spirit! I think the comments were pretty harsh!!

Well said lightingstrikes, Risdonz have any real problems with any clubs at the moment but I am sure there are many that don't like them. I think this stems from them beating everyone when apparently they were crap according to most. However apart from one incident earlier in the year I can't remember there being any problems with Risdonz B grade team. Although they are repeatably warned about their behavior, yet no examples of inappropriate behavior are given.

If you are not apart of the Risdonz 'club' then you would not understand the difficulties in fielding an A grade team. I believe on the weekend 2 players pulled out on saturday morning, where the B GRADE HEROS are already playing so with the stupid double up rule they could not play. Even if they could...who wants to field for 85 overs on a hot day...not me.

I think some of the B GRADE HEROS would help the A grade but first they have to help themselves.

The B Grade play for the World Cup which is one reason why many cricketers in Port Pirie prefer to play in the competition

Thankyou PPlions. Well phantom i would hav thought u could of asked scott macintyre that question. There is certainly more B grade sides but as for standard and seriousness the B grade best 11 wouldnt get near the A grade comps worst 11. Scott couldnt make a run in the A grade and got a couple of kids out. Thats why he went to B grade and then back to your comp.

B interested to know if the risdon cricket clubs players got out there and really put it up the local cricket writer today in the A grade? Thats what any decent player/club would do when you are not happy with something that is written about you or your club. Any club/player worth their salt would get their back up and show some guts/character and determination to prove him wrong. Any news on risdons performance against last years premiers? Think there is some risdon cricket clubs committee members on here that could answer this. Could b wrong and have not mentioned names so dont go rushing to the report buttons fellas as i have checked all my comments and they are above board. I have even been lawyered.
