Anyone can sub as long as they are registered. I am unsure about the 2/3 rule for A/B grade when it comes to subs.

Today's match is against Eyre Peninsula at Glandore, and features Tony Sellen as one of the umpires.
Lets hope Upper North kick off the week with a big win.

As long as players needed subs for legitimate reasons then all should be fine.

it should be good practice for the fielding captain to run substitute reasons by the controlling umpire who could include the batting captain in the conversation. This way we don't have to worry about such issues after they have already happened.
Hats off to Crackers and the PG captain on the weekend who sorted out a substitution against SP with some simple communication.

Agreed. A bit of communication goes a long way towards sensible decisions being made. It's not like we are playing for the World Cup.

I've been told previously that the fielding team's captain needs to advise the umpire about any subs. Our team always write in a 12th man as a sub, although this isn't required its the right thing to do.

Also it appears a player can have a runner?

don't see an issue with runners as long as the umpire and opposition captain are convinced the injury is legitimate and from the game. Also that the runner wears same equipment as the batsman. I have never seen the pprca rule book but would assume it basically follows cricket rules 101

Its world cup cricket, as long as teams aren't using subs for no reason then it isn't a problem.

Most teams don't even have enough for a sub fielder anyway.

Risdons were denied a runner earlier in season. Didn't matter cause he hit 4 boundaries.

 Maybe PPCA needs to be pro-active instead of re-active to take our game forward?
