That 2012 version still has D1-3 players as 3 points, which is not the case.

lol, definitely a couple of zero pointers there.

Sorted it.

Points are based on 2012 only if you played (ie. if played A-Grade in 2011, but B-Grade in 2012 you are worth zero). We have a lad from from the APFL who is this exact scenario as he was injured in 2012 and came back in the B-Grade at the very end of the year.

We have a lad who did not play in 2012, but played A-Grade in the SAAFL in 2011. Is a one-point deduction, therefore only worth one-point now. I was obviously under the impression he was zero.

See Rebbeck & Goodwin definitely on their way to Athelstone. We spoke to them about playing in the country and seemed like real honest footy club blokes - just wanted to play in a better competition, and get paid of course. Good recruiting by Athelstone I think - and sour grapes from us - getting harder to recruit city based players with a crumpet budget to play with!!

Will they stick to them???? I would think the legal costs to Clubs vs the returns from trying to enforce what are usually fairly loose "handshake" agreements scribbled on some A4 would be economically untenable. Besides, most usually end up :toimonster:

Still, what's in these Contracts????????

Legal costs to clubs???

I for one think the clubs have a right to stand there ground over players signing, giving there word with a firm handshake, only to pull the pin when they recieve better money offers elsewhere it's not good enough. This isn't the first time a player/players have done this but clubs need to have a right to stand there ground.

My point re the Legal costs, was that 99% of these "gentlemens" agreements are realistically unenforceable because to resolve the issue on a question of legality would be cost prohibitive........The Club may have genuine grievance and the right to stand there ground, but I'm pretty sure there would be little history in the SAAFL archives of any Club taking a player to the Supreme Court to enforce a "$2" contract.
