Voges would be great in England, one of the few players that have played county cricket and scored well.

Would prefer him in the team over 'i play my way' Warner and co.

Voges has put his hand up. Would like to see him get some runs in the longer form though.

I think Bailey is not Voges. Voges is 33 where as Bailey is 30

Yep if he can get some shield runs he has to go, he has alot of experience over there!

Funnily enough blokes like Hughes, Starc, Cowan have done extremely well in county cricket!!

David Hussey has too.

I'd love to see Bailey, Voges and Hussey all go to England in front of Finch and perhaps even Khawaja. Fair bit of experience amongst them.

Finch is a flat track bully. He averages less then 10 in the shield this season.

Lets hope my man Voges plays tonight.

Good.

Though I'm just thinking the selectors love Finch and he might get a gig in front of a bloke who deserves it more.

Steven has had many chances to impress at the next level and each time he has failed. He can't take the next step. He just got dropped from the ODI squad and near on the next day is selected in a Test squad. Why don't we have a look at the blokes who are doing just as well in the Shield (like Doolan) and see if they can take the next step. Why does he keep getting looked at?

Agree it wasn't the greatest start to his test career (I don't care for ODI or t20) but it was alot more impressive than say Khawaja

What u forgetting is its already a very inexperienced squad, Doolans batting imho isn't that far ahead that it makes up for Smiths experience in both India and England and the fact Smith is one of the best fielders in world cricket.

Also last time Smith played in the Ashes he was far from our worse performer and hit a very impressive 70 odd(?) against a very similar attack.

Maybe selectors went with Smith who has consistently hit shield runs for season over the bloke who is having a flash in the pan year! (Remember Doolan is in his fifth season and was averaging in the 20's at the start of the year)

Personally I would rather see Doolan over there ahead of Khawaja.
