My question is how do you go about recruiting commitment? ask all the questions, the player gives the answers you want to hear and then 4 months later after their non attendance at 2 functions what do you do?? tear up the contract, refuse to pay them...all of this ends ugly.

Build juniors I hear you cry...we are doing that but we wont see these kids in our seniors for 8- 10 yrs. I think I was at Jet Park last year when Unley celebrated 20 yrs of junior football ???
and look at your results. What a stellar season for Unley.

Seems like its magic wand time at Hicks Park .......but some people better be careful what they wish for

Turk IMO it looks like the club is looking for quick fixes which is why they throw money at players. I would say, take the next couple of seasons on the chin and concentrate on spending money on things that will attract players to the club like a good gym, or better facilities etc. (not knocking current facilities as I don't really know.) Also make incentive awards like BOG get's $100 etc. make players earn their money. Also keystone I feel is having an Under 18's. Almost all successful strong clubs in higher divisions have an under 18's which injects half a dozen plus new players each year to senior footy. It will take a few years to build, but looking long term I think you would be better for it. Throwing money at players to make your club competitive only hides the cracks for a while.

What is this The Greenacres Football Club Forum ...FFS...Everyone has an opinion..
How about all those disgruntled players contact the appropriate personnel instead of using this forum to bag a club,IMO that doesn't deserve this rubbish that is being thrown at them.
IMO the players that are talking up this rubbish around the tracks need to pick up their dummies, grow up and move on ..

Every club comes under scrutiny from time to time, it's all fair game. Clubs don't mind singing when they're winning and success ebbs and flows.
Outsiders are entitled to ask questions, those in the know can choose to ignore them or give their feedback. As for the Greenacres Football Club, I think they've seen more divisions this millenium than most other SAAFL clubs and I'm sure their doors will be open for a long time yet, they've been a well run club from what I've seen over the years.

This is a Forum by definition ((place of public discussion- (circ. Oxford Dictionary)not private or secret discussion)) as part of a Website. This is Division 4 which is represented by 10 Teams of which the Dragon are but one............so why exactly are you here??? Voicing an opinion as part of a broader discussion about Greenacres..... perhaps??......It will all be okay at the end of day"H".....promise....

Think you will find a plympton player (one that featured regularly in the best players last year) definately did sign at the shoes.

Nice to see HV up on top of the ladder, even if it is only the "ins & outs" ladder... 8)
