punters as there is way to much of an amateur element to the drivers when you compare it to sports betting
And backing horses at $1.30, in harness racing, is not the smartest move, way to many things can go wrong.
every late mal when broken by a loss shows a profit $$$$
but who wants to make money?????
LATE MAL 48 goes under
Late Mal results
48 Late Mals
44 wins
4 losses
On a $1 per selection betting using Unitab dividends
Late Mals show a $10.00 profit
8 in a row this cycle
Managed a sMALl profit for the cycle
I will refrain from commenting on why LM9 this cycle was beaten , until I view the Stewards Report
Drivers Ashleigh Dunkley (PROMINENT ART) and Geoffrey Gee (IM AGENT EIGHTYSIX NZ) were queried regarding their respective tactics racing down the back the first time when contesting for the position outside the leader CLASSIC TYCOON ($1.10 fav.). Mr Dunkley stated that PROMINENT ART was a large ungainly horse which had raced best previously when able to lead or sit in the death and for that reason he had elected to hold the position outside the leader when challenged by IM AGENT EIGHTYSIX NZ as he felt that this was his best option. Mr Gee stated that he had initially looked to go back and take a trail however after taking some evasion action entering the first turn when HEI BERT and BLISSFULL NIGHT appeared to briefly lock stays, that IM AGENT EIGHTYSIX NZ had then grabbed the bit so he elected to go forward and see if the position outside the leader was available. Mr Gee further stated that he had only contested for this position for a brief distance before restraining IM AGENT EIGHTYSIX NZ in an attempt to ease the pace so as to gain some respite. In considering the matter the Panel were of the opinion that the respective explanations were not unreasonable given the circumstances and no further action was taken.
