If they give port and crows a ressies side in the SANFL, then I along with many other supporters will walk. I wont go to ANY footy games live or take my kids.

Taking to a few Bays supporters y'day and they also said that they'd not renew memberships for their clubs and give the game away.

NO SANFL reserves sides at all AND players who are to leave SANFL clubs must go reverse ladder order not to the Powers choice of clubs which is now very very obvious.

If the SANFL dont step in then expect mpre Henry Slattery deals with the magpies in the future. Time to step up SANFL directors and SANFL club directors and let the public know your intentions - No more pandering to our AFL clubs

Don't make me laugh. The SANFL clubs have been plundering the coffers of the two AFL clubs for 20 years and now you cr@p on about pandering?

I reckon Ben Newton will look pretty good driving to Magpies training in his new Renault!

What you call plundering, the real world calls getting a return on investment.

Your club would be nothing without SANFL, both in the SANFL comp through the competition provided and the AFL through the initial payment of the licence fee and the bailouts of recent years.

If I were as ungrateful to those responsible for my existence, it's highly likely my old man would have given me a proper sort out, not a pile of cash.

Also, if you add the fact that Port have hardly ever returned a dividend to the SANFL whilst the Crows have delivered very healthy returns until recently.

Port also decided to spend about $4m on their club rooms in part to minimize their ability to pay their way to others.

It is also no coincidence that Port's financial woes only really came to light after Allan Scott and Nick Bianco stopped bankrolling the club.

For all we know the club would have been insolvent years ago without their massive financial contributions.

Outside of the first handful of years, I doubt whether Port have ever had a sustainable business plan.

Anyway, what was this thread about?

Back on topic, Port Adelaide played an internal trial on Friday night. Port Adelaide won.

Back off topic, The facility upgrades at Alberton have been completed with the assistance of Government community Grants programs available to both SA based clubs and AFL equalization Funds, available to all clubs.

But you feel free to keep spruiking your misinformation.

Back on topic.
Did the Port shirts or skins win?

Back off topic.
Allan Scott sponsored Port for 11 years at $500K per year and he also donated $1M towards Allan Scott Headquarters (why else would they name the facility after him, which cost about $4M to build). That's $6.5M that we know about. Also, Port avoided paying a dividend to the SANFL for years, whilst the SANFL have had to put $14.75M in grants to Port.

In addition, the SANFL owns the licence of the Crows and Port and part of that licencing arrangement is that these AFL clubs must pay 80% of their profits to the SANFL annually. The Crows have (until the last couple of years) provided an annual dividend of about $1M to the SANFL. Port as I understand have NEVER paid a dividend to the SANFL.

The AFL licence fee for both clubs was $4M. The Crows paid this off to the SANFL and Port only partially paid it.

The Crows only build their $20M training facility when they could afford it and had paid their financial commitments to the SANFL. Port built Allan Scott Headquarters despite not being able to meet their financial commitments to the SANFL.

If the SANFL hadn't provided the continual bail out funds and demanded the financial commitments that Port we obliged to provide them under their licence conditions do you seriously believe Port would be around today?

And all this doesn't even take into account the funds provided directly by the AFL.

I have been sympathetic to Port in the past and have posted many posts on this site in the past defending them.

Feel free to avail yourself with the facts.

Which SANFL club will Sam Shaw play for this week considering the Bays aren't playing?
