Cupcakes was O/S last season and is back. Expect him to rip this comp a good one in 2013

And having 'walked' half way round Europe in the last 12 months he may actually be able to get out of the forward 25m. Then he will be a massive headache for opposition coaches. Don't get me wrong, the guy is a gun and if fully fit could rewrite the goalkicking records in Div 7. :)

Has amazing hands, clunks them from everywhere.

Tends to get big bags against the struggling sides, it will be interesting to see how he goes without the star midfield from the GF winning SHOC side. I reckon you could have kicked a fair few in that forward line Yanky!

Hahahaha. Bit too old for that now morell. Spoke to the main man today and he reckons you are almost ready to lead up the back 6 this year if you can improve your 'walking' status. Hope so, cos you are one of the best backs I have had the privelidge to have coached. Go get 'em Tiger. :)

Thanks Yankman, I appreciate the vote of confidence and that was nice of him to say - as an aside I have been super impressed with Harro’s ability to motivate and lead.

...but I am a bit away from being a competent A Grade footballer. I suspect I will be playing a fair bit in the magoos before being required in the A’s - if at all. Not a drama in the world with that, happy to play wherever and whenever the club needs me.

Playing in the back pocket this week against Aldinga though, I hope I don’t line up against Leon Davis!

Think he is an assistant coach in the B grade so doubt he will play.

Any signs of improvement from the Crabs on last year or should have they bitten the bullet and gone to D8 & D8R

It was probably not the best idea for them to go up against a team that was such a level above them! They would not of got too much out of the game in the way of practising set plays, ie centre clearances, entering their forward lines. I only saw the ball enter their forward lines a few times,

The disposal and skill level of the crabs looked very average, many kicks missed the targets and they had no real structure or direction coming out of their back lines. Many kicks out of defence were kicked high in the air and the taller opposition opponents out marked them.

A few times they strung a few passes together and looked ok until they reached the half forward line where they turned possession over.

It was not all that bad for them, they had a quality player in the midfield who ran and tackled hard all day, (number 39 with the Curley hair). He seemed to get plenty of the footy but he needed some more help from his team mates!

He played the last quarter in their back lines and seemed to be one of the only players putting up a resistance until the final siren!

I guess they will look like a totally different side when they take on an opponent more on their level,

I spoke to someone close to the crabs last night at a show I was at and he said they had about 8-10 of their A Grade side out which included a fair few of their recruits.

Lets hope so for their sake he was telling the truth!!

I hear mathews from angle vale kicked 10 against blanchetown-swan reach on the weekend. AV would be trying to keep him around for the whole season!

Ingle Farm played Central United. I've received mixed feedback - some have told me Farmers got pasted, others have said poor kicking cost Farmers a win and one said it was competitive so dont know who to believe!

Probably depends what part of the crowd they were sitting with. Some looked to be having a very good day, don't know how much of the footy they were watching though.......Was a good hitout for both teams. Think CU won by 5 or 6 goals. IF played average in the first half and picked it up in the second after the coach had a quiet word with them. Good signs for both sides going in to round 1. Thanks to Dutchy and all the CU club for hosting the game and best of luck for the season..

Thought you may have been there PG to have a look at a few of the C graders running around in the B's yesterday, then you wouldn't have mixed feedback
