I think there is a difference with meeting with a coach to have dinner and not decide to play that year and saying yes he will play. Also I think you have it vice versa on the flaggy statement. He hasn't gone back to flaggy for the way they treated him when he left.

Specky, Muffler is 100% spot on. Buthcer's mates that are at McLaren are disappointed as they only agreed to play because he was going there and changed his mind at the last minute. Who are the ex-Flaggy players since you seem to know a fair bit?
You must be kidding, right? Adam Vonow would be the mate in question, but seeing as he has played at McLaren for 3 years, I highly doubt he said he was only going to play if Butcher came on board. Nice story though. What I can assure you is there was never an agreement between McLaren and the lad. That is 100% spot on! As I said before, it was only ever going to be Willunga or Onkas.

Anyway, I'm sure there are much more exciting things to talk about with Rd 1 just around the corner. Good luck to all involved!
Dude your storytelling is about as good as your knowledge...........
Adam has returned from a year off with another mate who are both mates with butcher to play with him until he changed his mind. Oh well it happens he is at willunga who really cares what happened in between good luck to him there.

Gary Cameron is one of the most professional individuals that would be going around in country football.
Those that have been associated with him in one way or another i am sure will agree. Saying that many phone calls a day is so far incorrect.

Maybe you should ask him yourself then muffler as I was shown the call register on the phone. Unless you are him then you would know already.

You seem very upset about butcher not signing with your club to just be a player
Anyone read todays southern argus? Interesting reading re yank having a whinge about the points sysytem not being able to fit new players in there a grade. Yankallila being a smaller town & struggling with junior numbers. I find it strange them winging since they have finished in the top 5 the last 3 years since it was introduced. The creek i know didn't vote for the points system & they have gone back to back.
2 time l/creek premiership youngster jake ashton place has been cleared to yank since he is living that way now but will play in the 2's most of the year. Would win the reserves medal easily if it happens. Unfortunately rules are rules, if he wants to play a grade he will just have to drive back to the creek each week!
I know of victor maybe having to play a snr colt each week, you would expect yank and creek also having to do this. Does anyone else expect to be over the points allocation this year?
Strath probably only going to use 5pts total similar to last year.

Yank always winge from what I have heard, kickittome, unfortunately when your club is around the mark and striving for something that hasn't happened for 26 or so years, you try everything. I come from Amatuer League and 15 points per team to me seems fair and let the clubs sort it out. I also understand they have promotion and relegation that levels their comp, but if GSFL went down the same path with 15 pts a team it would also level our comp. GSFL appears to be very very strong and it needs a level playing field and ATM to me it isn't. Just an outsiders observation. :(

The league is far from even Yank Man but it's getting better. 15 points for each team would not work. I was never a fan of it but the current set up/allocation of points should even things right up. I'm interested to know why you think it isn't a level playing field?

It's no biggie wow, but obviously the bigger towns have much better pulling power and have plenty of kids to develop. The smaller towns rely on importing. As I said it's just an observation on my early days in GSFL. Guess I have a bit to learn yet.

Nothing will change. There's no leadership at the top. Old Kevin has been doing the same thing for 100 years, which is nit much, and I've got no idea what the president plan is, but nothing has changed since he arrived making big statements about everything. Just enjoy it as it is.

Disappointing loss yesterday after fighting it out for all but the last 15mins of the game. Plenty of positives but you play to win, not admiral losses. Plenty of turn overs from both sides but there was a lot of pressure on the ball carriers. Brazier took a massive hanger - the kid is going to be very handy in a few years. Interested to know Yank Mans thoughts.
