We'll still have a red hot dip regardless of the way the game pans out.

Its just tough that it (B grade have bye) happens 4x to us this year lol

Just my view, but that is what happens when a club pulls its D grade. Should not be allowed to happen at Div 6 level, especially when there is so many 'A' grade clubs in Div 7. I appreciate that it happened very late, but the writing has been on the wall for many months now. Anyhow, good luck to all teams today.

The rest are C Graders with maybe a few pushing into the B's when needed. 6 out of 25, so 75% rather than the 90%, but as we have named such a large squad it will be up the the coaches on game day as to how much time on the ground the aforementioned get.

It is unlucky for Ingle Farm, we have had similar things happen to us over the years and it sucks. It will be the strongest C Grade side we will field for the year, but it was unlucky for us to have no B Grade side able to play, so the A Grade coaching team needed to ensure the entire A Grade "squad" had at least a run on the weekend.

And hey, we are ignoring Ingle Farms depth here, there is no doubt in my mind its going to be a tough game. 50/50 in my books.

SHOC may struggle higher up then.
Farms 5.8 to 1.2 early second.

Smithfield very impressive today, virtually without a bench in the last quarter, which probably helped us out-run them at the end.

The game last year was won by 234 points. This year by 77. Closer, but still not competitive.

Flinders uni game yesterday was alot more competetive then last year, They have picked up alot of boys that clearly have the heart to be competetive this year in Div 7.
On another note playing at our new oval was a gr8 feeling for the boys that have been at The Owls since they started 6 years ago. And good to get first win at new home ground.
The only dissapointing part for the day was goal kiciking was off and as we have only had goal post on the oval since Wedensday before easter i am sure this will change over next few weeks with some practise.

I am sure this year the Crabs will get a few wins under there belt which will be good for a club that is trying to be on the up.
Thanks For a good game yesterday.

Some interesting results yesterday what are peoples thoughts on some results shocks or what they thought would happen.

Results went mostly as expected, though I thought Henley would beat Flinder Park. Can't judge the C-Grade teams on this week alone, next week they should all be getting a few players back from the B's who were being used in D1R trial games yesterday

flinders park looked strong all over the ground i must say, considering they didnt even play a trial game, had alot of 6 footers across the board and were strong in the air

um these ones .... ;)
http://www.sportingpulse.com/round_info.cgi?a=MATCH&fixture=123944614&c=1-114-0-241981-0&pool=1

but despite running around in a 30 degree heatwave seeing stars, feelin giddy and dizzy from 5 minutes in, seeing 3 footys at once and hoping for the middle one was the actual footy, blokes from memory to stand out for flinders were the centre half forward came into the the game, the veteran off half back who looks like an old captain was prominent, and number 11 was good early

Parks were hungrier early when everyone had their energy, and by halftime when both sides were pretty much exhausted due to heat stroke the rest of the game saw parks run away with game having the momentum and the lead

you blokes always tough in the derby hey

a stack load of new players too?

Didn't see the game and who knows with best players that are put up on the website.

Always seemed to be close games in the C and D grade with Henley, good rivalry there. Got a couple new players indeed but not a drastic amount i don't think. The C grade will probably welcome back a couple good players next week as well. Should have a reasonable year i would think

Flinders Park were better than I had expected, and should have probably won by more. Some worrying signs for Henley though, with a few players who are not up to D7 standard. There should be a few players to come into the side over the next few weeks, with a lot of injuries to the A's and B's atm, but they cannot rely on that. It was the new coach's first hitout however, and he will now have a better idea of where people are at.
Could be a long day at the office this week however as they come up against a good A grade side in Angle Vale. This should give a good indication of where they are at.

Appreciate the beer and hospitality. Was good to see so many of our lads stay for a couple of coldies.

What sort of players have they picked up BP? have they got height or just harder more skillfull players?

Good to hear they were a bit better than last year. Interesting to see how many of the boys were pulling on a crabs guernsey for the first time and therefore playing with each other together for the first time.

I guess that it is more about the depth than anything at the crabs. They now have 3 teams and plenty to pick from. Eventually the best 21 guys from a list of 80 odd will determine the clubs strength. Given time and development they will be a pain in the backside for a few clubs. :)
