now, correct me if my memory is wrong, but wasnt it stated at the time of the "one port" merger that the connection would only be for off field operations in the interest of saving money? wasnt it stated that there would be no football dept links?

personally i understand that the power want what they see as best for their player, but give them a chance to earn their place in the league side, they wont learn anything having it gifted to them. the biggest part of the situation that pisses me off is once again the sanfl being sold lies by PAFC, probably moreso that we believed them (all but a few posters on here anyway). they are trying to gather their reserves team by sleight of hand, and its about time it was stopped.

the people down at alberton need to be called out on their deceptions, and be told in no uncertain terms that it cannot persist. the next player that they want moved can go to any other side, apart from the magpies. if they arent happy with that, **** them. if they want to play their players in our league, they do it on our terms, this isnt their league.

que the usual port suspects coming out defending the move: "its their player they can do what they like with him" etc etc.... most of them dont even have the good grace to be embarrassed about they way their club is treating the league that helped port to have such a successful history. (with a couple of notable exceptions)

Yet another reason to get rid of all AFL listed players from this comp.

The other players that have moved so far this season are hardly league standard anyway. I'm sure north are happy not to have to worry about Danny Butcher and west aren't losing sleep about coming up against Ben Newton.

Well the PAFC ones at a minimum....

Why do the Crows work with what they have got and not treat the host clubs like shit?

I think its the principle that pisses most people off.
Sometimes players have to do the hard yards in the Ressies, they are not an automatic league selection just because they get drafted to an AFL side.

Its called professionalism, Ports administrative and football managing skills aren't even up to SANFL level let alone AFL level.

Wonder if Kenny Mac will get a phone call with an ultimatum. Perhaps Port should spend some time speaking to their player about his responsibility to perform rather than giving Bloods a hard time about what position he is played in.

Expect several other Power players to suddenly develop problems with their SANFL club if the Magpies remain winless.

Yeah someone should really speak to Young. Shit performance on the weekend!

I thought it was obvious that my post was about Newton rather than Young as it mentioned West rather than North. I did read with interest that North declared that Young would play league with them this week if he stayed.
Why are they moving him then? Are there no rules that govern this movement of players?

Why was Young played in the reserves in the first place?

We can complain as much as we want but unless the eight clubs or the SANFL ask for a "please explain" then I guess we assume it's all above board.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Absolute crap. When's the last time the Crows had to deal with their league standard players being wasted in the reserves?

Wasnt in Norths best 21 last week I guess.

Does being on an AFL list guarantee him a spot in a league team?

There are a lot of players on AFL lists who are reserves standard and should play in the reserves. Young is definitely not one of those.

In saying that, I don't think Port should have been able to move him after one game in Norths reserves. If he was kept in the reserves this week then yes, definitely move him.

Why was he not In your best 22?

Seems strange on exposed AFL form.
