Because i'm already trying to fit 50 players into 25 C grade spots and new players means needing to make more room.. When you have average of 30 train for C grade alone twice a week and these players getting money in for subs it makes life difficult!

That would be an awesome solution.. if the C grade weren't already being very responsible this season! Blokes who train and pay are getting picked 1st - but blokes have been getting their fees in quick smart - collected about $400 Saturday alone before the game

I even told one player he wouldn't be considered until fixing up last seasons balance, two days later paid $200 to the club just to get a game.. these blokes are cooked!

25 spare players !!.........paying subs and no game....No consideration of a D Grade pre season?.......(although I appreciate the logistical problems associated with placement given that the IG is a Div 7 club and your C's are C4 already) There are gaps in D8R...

Cheers Tosser a lot of effort was put in by Quinny the M.C. bummer about the loss for us. Looks like tapping into the school out there has worked well for you guys with a lot of young fellas coming through the Bgrade.

Making a stronger link with the school was definitely a priority of mine when I took over last year. On the weekend we had 16 players in our A's and B's who either finished Year 12 last year or are currently at school. The hard part is keeping the decent ones away from the cashed up BLG clubs but hopefully we can get the majority of them to hang around for years to come.

Surely you'd keep the lads a few years 18,19,20. I can't see cashed up clubs wanting to pay lads straight out of school. Surely the College can give these lads a a few beer vouchers each week. That'll keep the young fellas keen

It's not quite as easy as i made it sound  Have players who are available every 2nd week + injuries + work etc, would struggle for a D grade and lack the support staff to sustain a 4th side. As the season goes on i'm sure those numbers will diminish.

Had farmers entered a 4th side, i bet it would've been the opposite and struggled for numbers! Better to have too many than not enough though, competition for spots is fierce, hopefully can reflect that in results over the year!

Just been thinking how good the umpiring in our B grade game was.

Im not usually one to compliment umpires. Being a backman, a dodgy call by the ump usually results in a shot at goal for the opposition.

Both club umps did a great job. I dont know about the Luthies guy, but our guy being someone thats played the game made a huge difference. They let the small petty stuff go, and the game flowed because of it.

I also enjoyed our guys commentary of his own umpiring.

Whats better...a current or recently retired player umpiring or someone that hasnt played for decades?

Nah mate, Beetle hasn't umpired since 2011. Our regular B grade umpire Terry was away I think and another bloke that sometimes does it was unavailable aswell. The bloke who did it for us did a pretty good job from what I saw.

Luthies B grade umpire who I've never seen before did a great job. Looks like Luthies have replaced the cheat they had umpiring for them the past few seasons.

Alex Cotter the White Prince on fire ATM
Walking around with his chest pumped out.
The tossas coach Scotty Mathews very happy with him.
Not happy withs friels poor punctuality at training as the tossas gain some momentum

Cotts is going ok at the moment. Had to play the first couple in the B Grade before he was allowed to play A's. He has addressed a few issues in the last couple weeks but he needs to back it up consistently.
Not sure why friel's punctuality gets a mentioned? He's one of our B Graders.
And I would hardly say we're gaining momentum after 1 win.
Not sure who you are but thanks for your observations.

Bloody Kriegy! Will only play C Grade for us and I've tried to get him move up the grades but he's happy not training and playing with his mates. Is best mates with our C Grade coach. Great for our C's but wasted talent.

F.C and HH3 i believe uncle Terry was in Bali for the last two weeks and became a Grandfather of twin boys while he was away . i also believe he has allready signed them for Pressos/ Nth Haven under the Grandfather Grandson rule , he will also be missing this week coz he is going fishing to celebrate.
Matty Roller umpired the last game and im led to believe uncle Terry taught him every thing he needed to know about umpiring , well done Matty
