Fair enough FTO I didn't know about the umpires change room situation. I didn't hear anyone from either box call any ump a cheat tho. I agree the umpires do not deserve to be abused verbally by anyone but they have to learn to rise above a lot of it and not be so precious and give 50 m away all the time to keep their own ego in tact.

I've said before on the Southern forum, I would like to see rules brought into every league that anyone found guilty of abusing umpires should be suspended from playing or attending games until they have trained with the umpires & then have had to umpire a game below the grade they play in eg an A grader umpires a B grade game & so on. This should especially apply to junior parents as they are often worse than players.

See Gene kicked a lazy 11 yesterday, he'd almost be on track for 150 goals at this rate.

I think the only team to have kept him to a couple goals so far has been Jervois so it would be interesting to know who stood him and how he played him.

I'm guessing they may have roughed him up a bit and maybe other teams could look at this an an option to try shut him down. Mypo would have the best forward line by a mile at the moment with him and Martin up and firing together

After all the talk about Jervois looking to build a good culture and play good footy mentioned over the summer I expected to head out to Jervois and see competitive games from juniors to seniors but the one thing I did see was Dirty, Cheap Shot Football in Seniors.

It's been that way for 30 years so I wouldn't expect anything to change in a hurry.

In saying that, imps ressies love a cheap shot when they play us then they sook when we react.

Can you tell me if both Love boys played? Heard whispers that one or both may be on the move

Wouldn't call them cheap shots or dirty shots against ramblers. Normally it is just a lot more physical due to both teams going extra intense

Owen was the only love to play and yes he done is Hammy badly and will be out for 6+ weeks

Pretty sure the broken nose to one of our kids in his first year of senior footy, about 50m of the ball last year was a cheap shot. Trust me there are plenty, just not as blatantly dirty as the Jervois clowns at times

Not sure I agree with your analysis of the Wait incident Footywiz. I saw it as two very commited footballers having a genuine crack. Waity is known for his courage and every now and again it catches up with you. Yesterday was one of those days.

I actually ventured up to Jervois for a look myself. Would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the result as I too thought the game was going to be a closer contest. Have to say I'm a little lost as to where these cheap shots took place though? Must say footywhiz81I'm really impressed with the fact that you have edited your initial statements. The hit on wait was actually as a result of his courage going back with the flight of the ball. The big fella from Jervois could of hospitalised him if he actually ran through the ball. In fact there were a number of Jervois players that i thought could have been more aggressive at the contest.Imps looked sharp and well drilled, it was clear they all understood and played their roles, however, there was periods in which Jervois looked ok but they simply couldn't sustain it or put it on the scoreboard when the ball got inside forward 50. From what I have heard they had some players out but I certainly wouldn't say there was any cheap shots thrown from what I saw. Would have to say the thing that stood out most to me was how much talent and ability young Barry has. He is one of the best 15 year olds I have seen in a long while. Could be a very bright future ahead for him from what I saw.

Went out to Tailem on the weekend and witnessed by far the worst game of RMFL I've seen in years. 36 players spent the day in Mannum's forward line, no way to describe it other than YUCK. Surprised by the Meningie result, were Mypo off or did Meningie manage to get away with playing with 30 points worth of players?

I have been trying to think of a way to describe that game PB and suprisingly YUCK hits the nail on the head. Although the Roos first quarter into that crappy wind was decent, the kids out the back paddock throwing sticks and rocks at each other had more entertainment value for the rest of the day.

umpires never cheat you say ,well you obviously dont watch froggys umpiring too closely.absolute toss of a bloke and still holds a grudge, especially against jervois, when as a big tough guy in his playing days took on a 18yr old chris hamiester and had his jaw smashed

Didn't see a lot of the game v Mannum but sinko did play a's, cutter was in the ressies.

They were terrible to be honest, had a few out including Sheedy but he would have made no difference. Finally we put together a 4 quarter game and the coach has finally started to click with the players. Plenty of ressies knocking on the door aswell which is something we haven't had for years, keeps the league players honest

Wasn't pretty yestrerday. Ramblers far too good. Hally is out for the year, and likely retired I heard. Had a knee reconstruction two weeks ago. Disappointing for him and the club.
