They haven't, they were always viewing in the past but were shown as guests, now we know exactly how many and when they're on.
Nothing sinister in it, places like Google continually send their bots out to keep their search engine up to date.

I like the look of the new site, though there is one thing I dont like and I dont know if it can be changed or not.

With the 'old' site, every time you logged in you could tell which threads had been added to since you last logged off by the colour of the footballs. When you logged off, the footballs would go pale, whether you had read the thread or not. Now with the new site, all the footballs remain dark until you read the thread.

I dont know if Im just being pedantic or not, but I found it helpful to know what had been added to since I was away.

They should have remained dark until you read them on the old site like they do on the new site (did for me and do in other forums anyway).

What I'd recommend is when you get to the home page before loggin out click on "Mark Forums Read" at the bottom of the page, as that will have the desired effect of the malfunction you had before, I use it all the times, there's also one for each forum.

Yeah I'm the same as Wedgie.
Usually if I loggedon and saw new topics.... and didn't read them. .. after I closed it and went back they were still unread.

Depends if you go in to them!
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

I found it variable - sometimes sections I had never gone into stayed dark at next log in and sometimes they were pale next time. That doesn't seem to be happening with the new version and overall I think ithe new site is a real improvement.

I wondered whether the behaviour was different depending on which browser you used, but I always use Opera.

Probably Psyber.
Sometimes I'd come in and it would have nothing unread. I shruged and read them! The system for keeping that in place sometimes doesn't work (or at least didn't before)

It looks like the new site handles cookies a lot better than the old site.

Oh ok good to hear, i'd always thought that "bots" had negative connotations but never really knew what they were.

Nice to know this site isn't going to end up like the WWT Eagles forum

It generates free publicity of this site; and more importantly the SANFL, which is always a good thing. ;)
