We're very proud of our dedicated travelling fans, had excellent support at all our away games so far this year.

Should be a big turnout for Saturday evening at Smithfield vs Ingle Farm - B's at 4pm, A's at 6pm.

Im surprised that Angle Vale lost to Shoc. Does anyone who saw the game want to give us a match report?

The crabs were in front at the first break with the farmers looking over their shoulders and the crabs harder at the ball and with more pressure at the contests. Ingle Farm got a nice rocket at the break.

Second quarter farmers got the jump and got on top. Crabs defense was solid but the midfield and flankers drifted down scoring at will...

Was a great standard of game and interested to hear thoughts from the IF people on here?

Remember I didn't see the second 1/2

Ok, as promised HR.

I think everyone knew that Flinders had certainly improved. Their foot skills were as good if not the best of any of the teams we had played.
Early on, I don't think we gave them the respect they deserved & they were first to the ball & had the opportunity to use their skills.
After the break we seemed to get the ascendency back in the middle & our pressure to keep the ball in the forward line increased. The increased pressure gave the Crabs less chances to use the quick movement & kicking skills. They still transitioned the ball quite well when they got the ball out into space.
The second half followed a similar trend to the 2nd & 3rd quarter. As the match went on the great Steve Gannell seemed to get over the top of the younger Flinders ruckmen who just didn't seem as battle hardened. This gave continuing first use to our onballers.
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the Crabs, they are a young unit, who with development will continue to improve. As HR said, the more matured bodies started to take control around the ball. They also probably lacked a real big centre half forward option to provide a contest that they could go long to when the pressure came at them.

Sammy was penciled in for a return this weekend, but was having a little bit of trouble with his back. He might have pulled up alright over the next couple of days, otherwise he'll be put on ice for a couple & will be given a bit of an extended chance at rehab. Hopefully all will go well & he will be back at full strength the second half of the year.
No one is as disappointed as I am, as I'm still yet to take the field with the great man. :(
I also can't confirm the rumours that all the back niggles have been caused by excessive amounts of swag! ;)

Besides the fact that HTP answered his own question, Beery has really fitted in very well at the Farmers. He's still got it and it didn't take long for him to make his presence felt on Saturday. Don't think it will be long before he's running around in the later game on a Saturday.

Wow, it's like being thrown to the wolves on here.. Make 2 comments & I've got a heap of accounts.. I'll keep my eye out for people doing the same & jump on the band wagon with everyone else.
I asked a question to IF people & then wrote what i did Saturday night, because i know him & have done for 10-15 years i was having a drink with him.. Maybe if people @ P hills did the same he'd still be there?
I dont know who you think i am auss rulz, but your wrong & your welcome to pm if you'd like to know..

You're only making it worse. take your medicine and play on

Andy Stewart's 400th game at Smithfield I'm lead to believe. Grant Hawksworth's 200th also this week......congrats to them both.
