Div 2 should have probably had a bye this week together with Div 1.

It's a long weekend in WA this weekend so considering they are the travelling team they have done it this weekend rather than our long weekend the week after...if that makes sense :?

From what I hear a few blokes from those grades get invited to "train" with the squad but only to keep the Division clubs happy. Normally don't get picked regardless of their talent, which is silly

What I've heard too. If they were serious about anyone outside A1 & A2, there's a bloke who I play right alongside of every week who would be in the starting 18 without any doubt in my mind, as well as 1 or 2 from North Haven.

Said it before and i'll say it again, get Open State Footy back and the credibility of State Footy will return too. Can't tell me the Open Age State Team couldn't pound the butts of the Young Fella's, doubt most of em will be at the same clubs next year anyways. Hey, good luck to the blokes that have made it, its a top effort, but just make sure you take it seriously, cos hopefully it might be the last Under 23 side we ever see.

I heard that the reason it is has been a U/23 side the last few years is that the WA comp was in such a state that they could only get funding for a lower age state team such as U/23. Therefore the other states had to follow suit to make it competitive. On a couple of guys from this team would make an open age team IMO.

typical from gs fan to talk about the stars of all washed up sanfl reserves players, he must of run at least and hurt himself.

Interesting comment Kookas, you might find a lot of the U/23 State Team are "washed up SANFL Reserves players" as you put it. You only seem to make comments about players your club has decided to get rid of, rather than on other teams players.
