Wow, that was an interesting round with a few surprises (to me at least).

It was a round of firsts, with Salisbury North dropping their first game of the year to Goodwood Saints by 33 points, while Gaza brought up their maiden win for 2013 by defeating Adelaide Uni at home by 22 points. I also thought Henley would've got up at home over SPOC.

Due to these aforementioned 'surprises', no club holds their spot outright on the ladder at the moment. Rostrevor OC holds a slim grasp on top spot over Goodwood Saints and Salisbury North on percentage, while there is a 5 club race for an elimination final spot. Gaza and PHOS Camden are in a deadlock for the 2 relegation spots, with no apparent challengers for spots 9 and 10.

This week's games:
PHOS Camden v Goodwood Saints - Saints were just too disciplined against Salisbury North, and if they continue doing so, it won't be pretty for PHOS Camden. I just don't see the Phantoms having an edge in any area. Goodwood Saints by 50+.

Rostrevor OC v Broadview - For some reason, I have a soft spot for Broadview, and I'd love to see them in the 5. However, it would be hard to see them do it this week, due to the logjam between 4th and 8th. Stopping Litster and Manuel is the key, and I don't think Broadview have the cattle to make it happen. ROCS by 29.

St Peters OC v Tea Tree Gully - Match of the round in my opinion. A win to either club would surely see them in the 5, at least for the fortnight. SPOC's confidence would be on a high after toppling Henley away last week, while the Gullies would be smarting after a loss to a fellow contender in Rostrevor OC. I predict that with each side wanting to keep the pace within their groups (Gullies top 3, SPOC 4-5), this game will be intense. Tea Tree Gully by 16.

Salisbury North v Gaza - Gaza notched up its' first win for 2013 against Adelaide University, while Salisbury North lost to a dedicated Goodwood Saints outfit. I expect that this match will be heated (as is the 'custom' for Salisbury North - Gaza clashes), with the Hawks wanting to prove that last week's loss was a minor hiccup, and Gaza wanting to show the other 9 clubs that last week's win wasn't a fluke. However, I believe that this week might well prove to be a blowout in the Hawks' favour, and a nail in Gaza's coffin for 2013. Salisbury North by 50+.

Adelaide Uni v Henley - Uni would be hurting after a 22 point loss to lowly Gaza last week, while Henley dropped the ball at home against St Peters OC. The prize for this match (much like the SPOC - Gullies contest) is a temporary spot in the 5 for two weeks. I don't think Uni have an answer for Sam Phillipou, who may well have a day out this week. A loss for Henley would almost confine them to a status of 'also-rans' for 2013, while a loss for Uni would give the cellar dwellers reason for hope. Henley by 9.

I remember when the sharks first played uni in 1920 boy that game was a beauty. Im sure this game wont reach the standards of 93 years ago but also a classic when the 2 teams meet. It been a while too (excluding the trial game). Would like to see the full list of henley injuries at present

My story begins in nineteen-dickety-two. We had to say “dickety” because the Kaiser had stolen our word “twenty”. I chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles.

If there are no apparent challengers for positions 9 & 10, the remaining 2 can't be in deadlock for two spots. Sorry man but it defies logic.

I think any side that's sitting 6-1 shouldn't be written off. I can't see the flag going to anyone bar those three.
