Congrats to H/Valley boys on the respect shown to Peachy on his 350 games and also to Wayne and his committee. Also how good are the cup cakes with team logos

Clubs that do things well off the field normally translates to doing well on the field and Happy Valley are kicking goals in both areas at the moment. HV also had Bombers cup cakes on Anzac Day.

All our clubs have some terrific volunteers with plenty of them in their roles for many years. The Bombers had a big past players "Back to Brighton" day on Saturday and the work of our volunteers from Mini's through to Seniors in getting the day happening was tremendous. Many were at Brighton by 7am on Saturday morning setting things up. And thanks to Port Noarlunga for assisting our big day with plenty of their own support which added to the atmosphere. The big crowd enjoyed thrillers in the Under 18, B and A grades that were decided by 4, 8 and 2 points respectively.

In case clubs weren't aware, Brighton's next home game is against Cove on 22 June and all games are being shifted 3 and a half hours later with the day culminating in the A grade playing under lights at 6pm. So if you are still looking for a fix of footy on that Saturday evening, get along.

Great to see that at a number of rounds in that both Aldinga and Hackham are both sitting a few spots higher than usual. Have they improved or has Londale and Marion slid further away. Great to see anyway

Mischievous as always Vics. Our home team support has been a little disappointing in previous home games this season but we had a huge crowd on Saturday and hopefully this will mean better crowds for the remainder of the season on the back of some interest arising from Saturday.

Everyone loves a winner Vics. Prior to Saturday our best home crowd this year was versus Christies in which their supporters probably made up 75% of the numbers. Yet when we played MV the crowd from both clubs was way down on previous Emu games at Brighton. If the Band is playing well, the Wagon will follow.

DTH I see now, SHOCS played down at the Port on the weekend bit far to travel, so the old boys came to Brighton,, SHOCS home next week. You guys have to travel that long distance up the hill to Reynella. I imagine Reynella BBQ might benefit by selling 3 or 4 snags??

On crowds saw what was a pretty good crowd at Happy Valley on Saturday even though for some unfathomable reason the Shoey 18's had the bye while the rest of the club traveled to Valleys.. As always Valleys put very very good junior sides on the park, great for their future.

Don't be one of those simple minded people who can't think outside the square Vics. Hackham play Aldinaga and OSB Lonsdale twice this year. Those 2 clubs don't have Under 18 teams and for the SFL to ensure that every Under 18 team plays the same amount of games then some creative fixturing has to be done during a couple of rounds to balance it. Saturday was obviously one of those days where it had to happen. At least HV still got their 5 game day and Noarlunga 18's had a BYE rather than play elsewhere. Yes, Hackham 18's had to play away from the rest of the club but that is the downside of your A grade playing a club that doesn't have a full set of teams, which is another debate in itself. So it's not unfathomable. It's called logic.

I would like to congratulate the coach's, support staff & supporters of the Brighton, Morphettvale, Hackham & Reynella Under 8 football teams.
As the coach of Morphy Parks team it has been very enjoyable the past 4 weeks where the most important thing has been giving as many kids a go as possible, letting the kids have fun and cheering both teams for their efforts.
The behaviour of ALL parents has been exemplary, and friendliness between supporters has been fantastic.
Whilst we do not keep score officially, we know that most kids know the score (and some parents), but this has never been a factor in the games enjoyment.

I particulularly would like to congratulate Brad, the coach of Reynella last weekend for his help, as the young umpire officiating his 2nd game did not have his mentor turn up, and we had to help him with some decisions.
Also the coach of Hackham (whose name escapes me) was outstanding in his generosity by helping my kids with little pieces of advice and tying shoelaces etc.

As a coach of the little champs of the future, you never know quite what to expect when you turn up on a Sunday morning from opposition coach's, but so far so good, and I thought it might be nice to put something positive on the SFL forum for a change.
Off to Marion this Sunday, so fingers crossed

The Minis are extremely well ran at Marion, all coaches involved are doing an amazing job, and the players and more importantly the parents are fantastic. It really is The one shining light coming out of Marion this year is their Junior program!
