But these predicted results for Saturday revolve around 4 teams. The other 11 teams (maybe with the exception of Flaggies) will all have high hopes of making the finals this year. And Flaggies were Prelim finalists 2 years ago and finalists last year and have one of the most talented batch of Under 18's and Under 16's of any club.

So unless you want a 4 Team 2nd Division AFC9798, please feel free to nominate the minimum of another 3 clubs that will join the other 4 in the lower division. In my opinion 15 clubs and the current gaps in junior teams means that 2 Divisions is not a viable option unless those bottom 4 clubs were happy to play amongst themselves which is highly unlikely. Plus we ideally want a 10 team 1st Division so there is absolutley no compromise with the fixture i.e. play each other twice home and away. How can you even entertain a relegation and promotion system when the fixture is not even. We don't an even fixture now and neither do the AFL or SANFL but all 3 leagues do not have relegation/promotion either.

The FDC proposal, although criticised by some who weren't present at the recent meeting to hear the finer detail and reasonings, is designed to enable all clubs to immediately fulfill or get alot closer to fulfilling the proposed junior structure and also possibly make the SFL more attractive to some outside clubs which could then enable an easier split into 2 Divisions, particularly if the persistent rumours suggest some "best fit Div 2 clubs" are the ones mostly knocking at the door. Alternatively, if the SFL decided that under the FDC proposal that minimum affiliation criteria will be enforced then it may lead to mergers or departures which could also solve the current problems.

In the absence of greater detail from the FDC, I like others can only go on the available information. Maybe if there was better explanation people could see the actual "future direction".
The 2 division system is problematic I agree and there is no easy solution, but to have teams as uncompetitive as we have and another batch that are not realistic challengers is not a good look for a comp. I'm sure you'll get the same opinion from anyone looking from outside of the SFL at the results. How will those clubs attract players who are happy to be pumped week in week out by ridiculous margins, unless they do it simply for the money or sentiment? Surely they require some prospect of success to attract people.

Three sets of chocolates for Morphy Parks on a Saturday. Me thinks it has been a few years?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Wouldn't think the chocolates tastes so good at Morphy Park as the Rams got within 11 pts in the 3rd quarter before Murphy and co. sensed a massive boil over and took control......B's only won by a goal as well.

Great win by young a Flaggies and Emus team in tough conditions against the odds.......

Heard conditions at Lonsdale were disgraceful?

Sharks supporters have only just realised some of there recruits aren't what they said they were

I am amazed at the so called name players who seem to be injured the week before association football. Convenient time for injury or maybe I just have a suspicious mind. Maybe next year instead of games like Valley v Hawks or Morphie Park v Marion etc. we will see Games such as Valley v Morphie Park the week before the association game, I hazard a guess that we would not see the injuries for these games. Just saying

Like I stated it was just what I heard, and I actually heard it from an aldinga player. Regardless of what I've said a 208 point loss in the wet to a side that was a bit down on expected form in the last month is demoralising!! I hope something can be done. A move to the GSFL wouldn't make life any easier and they're too far south for the SAAFL. My guess would be if they've got money to spend, spend it on players who are worth it and are local so that they can attend training twice a week.

I certainly tipped Townies as Flaggies form has been horrible. Credit where it's due, it's a good win for the Pigs.
