we sang it on the oval in my time Sprint, do they still sing it on the oval?

I've missed both wins this year so don't know. hang on, maybe i'm the reason they lose?? i'm fairly sure it is not done on the ground though.

Each to their own but I reckon singing the club song on the ground and sharing it with the supporters is great, I really don't see how it is disrespectful at all, if it were at a SANFL or AFL ground it would be blasted out on the loud speaker for all to hear, is it really any different?

OH&S issue due to the amount of water tipped on the new players in each grade causing a slip hazard in the changerooms. :)

No wonder footy has gone soft when people start worrying where you sing the club song. Turn it up!!

So you have the option of playing him in the middle and having a massively nullified influence, getting frustrated, not enjoying his footy, or you can put him either down back to get some run and class or up forward where yep, he will get a close checking opponent but his 10 touches will be deadly.

With a bit more midfield depth we could probably get away with Mazey or Weekley copping tags in the midfield, as then blokes like Daish, Simper and Francis can run amok, but of course they havent been playing.

so let me get this right... Your happy if arguably your best player gets 10 touches, instead of actually giving him the opportunity to shake a tag (which good players do) and potentially carve a side up??? bit of a cop out and I reckon it shows little faith in your player... i'm a little confused by these tactics :?

I agree...the other onballers should be protecting him...when there getting killed around the ball and have your best player sitting up forward...

Good round of footy this week, with all games involving sides who are within a win of each other and next to each other on the ladder..

If it stays this way for the second half of the season, makes for a very exciting round 18..

However, plenty of hurdles to jump before then.. Bit of true winter weather forecast for this week for probably the first time all season, should make things interesting.. Should be a tight game at the kennel with plenty on the line for both sides, neither side has been travelling overly well of late but are still getting the job done, this game should get both sides up and firing though..

For the record, Blackfriars are my second half of the season bolters, if they can turn there close run of results in there favour, they could sneak a top 3 spot.. If they click, I wouldnt want to face them come finals time, a genuine threat if you ask me..

Do you reckon we'll miss @Doghouse9 this week? I hear he is planning to be spending a bit of time in the cross this weekend - any chance he'll add some more letters to his tatt?

Don't think he'll add anything beefy. he learnt his lesson when he went and got some done in the USA. Just like the other 2

mazey can and does have an impact inside the center square in patches but his real strength is over head. not sure he would be taking the same amount of marks in a game as he does as a forward if he was playing on the ball. did see him taking marks up the ground, around half back, deep in our forward line and running into the goal post at the other end to save a goal on the weekend! thought he has been playing good footy lately. might have something to do with him getting to training! gotta look at what a team structure needs. plays a great role for the team no matter what that role is! as morell pointed out a few weeks ago that was at half back and people got on here saying that we would have lost by a lot more if he wasn't there! can't play him everywhere! few distractions out of the way now and i think our midfield and team structure will be a lot better for it! looking forward to this week and the second half of the season! few young lads performing in the reserves will get an opportunity as a couple already have. good luck to young Aaron Cox getting his first run in the a grade side in a while this week! well deserved. good luck to the uni lads!

Lockleys were missing quite a few including Georgiou & Flanigan but still the result is a huge shock I agree
Smelt kicked 11 for Uni he's a very handy Forward, big agile unit

I haven't seen a lot of Div 6 footy in the last few years but if he is kicking 11 the standard must be terrible. Agile ? You are kidding me aren't you ! Who stood him a resting midfielder

played Div 1R last week and kicked 7 and there is a rumour hes playing Div 1 this week although not selected in the official team..good news for MPFC..

I'm presuming Michael mazey is #8?? If so from what I saw last week he is def more suited as a wingman/flanker than a midfielder. It's so uneducated to think your best player must be in the midfield. Sunday mail said he kicked four goals, doubt he would've kicked those playing in the midfield and hence Mitchell park may have lost by more?? Who knows but my opinion is Mitchell park seem to have him the spot most suited to him and the team.

Mazey can play, good leg speed and racking left leg but no-one to kick too...........two big guys in forward line refuse to chase so comes out faster than in goes in is the big issue for MPFC?

Big win for Rosewater and Lockleys......

Id say the yankman regime and influence has diminished by now

Fitness is now a cant be fire-trucked inclusion at training as giving mr.wyld the boot cos he wanted paid players and paid recruits just like the gun sides in div 6, now see mitchells themselves being given the relegation boot back to div 7 already when we're hardly nine rounds in ?

Instead of relegation, maybe the lions should go to the naughty corner for a season and be given timeout :D wait for the blasting i'll cop for this

Yet MPFC are still only one win outside the top five. Very tight comp and I'd say the difference between div 7 to div 6 is bigger than other division comparisons.
