it is almost a fun past time to get stuck into Brighton and see DTH fire up.

On a serious note I picked up a copy of the Guardian messenger tonight and realised now I will be using it for toilet paper. front page refers to new "footy clubs new start" refer to page 13 (I hope that is the luck the new club gets) I am astounded how the people running that club let alone the messenger can promote this club. Yes it is great to see kids playing footy but what about the damage done to a club with a proud history. To call themselves EJSC is a disgrace to the adults involved they should hang their heads in shame of their selfish behaviour.

2nd the SFL should be worried this is the second week in a row Soccer gets a bigger promotion than AFL in the messenger the SFL gets a side spot about the same level as school footy given that 5 of the 15 clubs are in the guardian area it is a shame from used to be in the paper. SFL General What are you and your board doing to fix this. What used to be colour pictures of SFL games is now soccer with SFL filling a side gap. Is it the results that have put the messenger off? Is soccer more exciting thatn SFL football?? A crying shame.

Having been on the recieving end of Brighton in cricket and footy back in the eighties I understand the fun when you can get them to arch up.

Yes, messenger blowing smoke up EJSC ass is disappointing especially when they've been advised of all the underhanded activity that went on to set up that club and screw EFC. I doubt we'll see the culprits hanging their heads in shame. They truely believe they've done the right thing, and the main culprit I'm told genuinely believes he'll be back running EFC at some stage in the future. That will need to be over a few dead bodies though. The use of Edwardstown in their name is now bringing to light the fact a number of parents feel decieved. Also, the recent activity of EJSC reps contacting EFC registerd AUSKICK kids to participate at Glandore has ruffled a few feathers. Given SACFL brief is to support football AND clubs throughout the state it might be interesting to hear their take on it all!

I notice the thread of the EFC junior issue has been removed. No doubt the chief instigator got upset that the facts and identity of individuals were public. I know he rang someone asking if they are 1919 and threatening legal action. I also know who he now works for and wonder if threats of sponsorship removal on this site played any part in the threads removal. Anyways, rumour has it, not all is well down there at EJSC. A few parents contacting EFC members telling how annoyed they are that they were lead to believe the whole thing was sanctioned by EFC itself and offers to help re-establish junior teams at EFC. Also hear EJSC has been emailing families looking for donations. Maybe the sponsors monies that couldn't be found in the books last year hasn't turned up again?

Nope been bought apparently.. Must be all the money the bombers are saving this year by playing kids they could afford to buy it again..

I did find this on the site though "Remember children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours."

Encourage children to participate, do not force participation upon them.

Never ridicule or yell at children f
Remember children learn best by example applaud the efforts of all players in both
teams.
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
Show appreciation of volunteer coaches, officials and administrators ± without whom your
child could not participate.

Maybe DTH should make sure coaches read this

Having had dealings with the SACFL they are toothless/gutless tiger who are very willing to take money but not willing to make the hard decisions. Do not rely on them to support EFC, if they were going to they would have done so already.

The really sad part is the Senior Coach of EFC (him and I have had differences) however I respect for as a fantastic club coach who really can have develop from the bottom up.. I hope he gets the chance in the next few years. Unfortunately we are in the day of selfish pricks who will only realise (maybe) the damage they have done in years to come.

I think most of the football world is with you 1919. What has been done is atrocious. It is even worse that they have the gaul use edwardstown in their name.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

After some of the things I witnessed over the past 3 years, maybe that info should be held under the noses of a certain junior sports clubs committee members.

"Remember children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours.":
- me to son of one of those committee members "what do you think of our clubs juniors going into SFL?

committee members son - "great, I want to smash Brighton!........... sadly he can't do that from MSJFL............

"Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities", "Never ridicule or yell at children", "
Remember children learn best by example":-
Watched one committee member drag his kid over the velodrome fence, yell abuse at him for two minutes, pour a can of soft drink over the kids head, then throw said soft drink can at the kids head before heading back to the balcony to continue drinking beer with his mates. Hell, that committee are worried that SFL IS FERAL.....GO FIGURE..........

unfortunately for everyone in the SFL vics01, the only thing under pressure in the SFL committee are the buttons on those purple jackets trying to hold in all those free lunches throughout the winter......

On a brighter note it was great to see all the mini under 10's participating in a zumba class last night and then to see the A and B grade lads also enbrace the warm up GOLD.

vics01 - the horse you are sitting on with regards to behaviour at junior footy must be at least 20 hands high.

What are your thoughts on this one? What punishment would be appropriate for a Club President who involved themselves in a violent, physical altercation with an opposition supporter during a Sunday Juniors Grand Final?

Be interested in the response.

Reading your posts, I find it hard to believe that you don't have a personal agenda against the junior coach in question.

Yeah heard about the Zumba this morning at work, I was pretty surprised to hear they also only trained once this week. With the cattle they have on paper, 5-4 win/loss ratio and only just in the 8, I would have thought they would be working hard on the track for the tough run home before finals.
What have the other clubs done / doing this week?
