Rnd 11: North v Central @ Prospect Oval (Sun 16/6)

I cant remember the last game i have been two where two clear goals were given points.

The first one was in the first quarter when Thomas Dunne(?) had a shot from fifty and Templeton and North Adelaide Opponent went for mark, Templeton went to put the hands up then pulled them away, goal umpire gave a point, it missed Templeton by the length of the flemington straight.

The other in the third quater when Dunne snapped from the grandstand side wing, the goal umpire went running to the out wing point posts from the moment it left the boot, it went high and straight through the middle behind the goal umpires right shoulder. The boundary umpire was miles away but they both consulted and gave it a point, it couldnt have went any more through the middle than it did.

Radio boys were debating where the Dunne shot had gone out on the full or not ??

It only looked that way because the goal umpire legged it that way from the moment it left the boot. The ball actually went through the goals behind the goal umpire (if that makes any sense) and because he nor the boundary umpire had nfi they seemed to go half way with the point.

It looked like he was. Bit tough. He was running at the ball and the north player was running back with the flight of the ball (gutsy effort). Live, it looked like a footy collision-two players going for the ball.

Was Miles the hero that punched Boyd, whilst he was lying injured on the ground, behind play? A costly free kick as north had possession and were attacking inside 50.

One of a few who appeared to have cheap shots at Boydy at various stages of the game... sadly.

Well done boys on a great win. Those first three quarters would be the best we have played in a long time.. except for our goalkicking that is!!
