And for anyone that saw Jordan in his prime you wouldn't put LeBron in the same sentence as him.

Patty Mills picked up his option with the Spurs today for next season.

Not a bad gig $1.1m to wave towels and get the best seat in the house;)

Although James started at 18 and Jordan at 21.

Robert Horry had two championships at 24.

A players resume has little to do with comparisons as to who is the better player. If you think about footy, Gary Ablett Snr played in 3 grand final losses. Wayne Carey never won a Brownlow. And Shane Ellen kicked 5 goals in a GF !!! Yea it has some relevance but saying someone is better cause they have more rings or MVP is no grounds to an argument

As a massive Mavs fan I hope he comes to Dallas.
Even though I'd instantly hate the circus that comes with him, it'd be worth it to have the best big in the league.

Whether or not we can get one or some of his mates like JSmith and Monta to come play with him and his buddy Morrow on less money than they could make elsewhere is what could get him over the line.

Draft has come and gone. Matty Dellavedova didn't get picked up but kiwi 7 footer steve Adams did at number 12. You might have heard of one of his 15 siblings, Olympic gold medallist Valerie.

Huge trade Brooklyn getting Garnett, Pierce & Terry from the Celtics for three 1st Rd picks & SFA. Not sure the idea of signing Kidd as their coach was such a great idea now.

Philly traded Jrue Holiday to New Orleans for the rights to Nerlens Noel and a 1st Rd pick.

As cripple said 7 foot kiwi prodigy Steven Adams was drafted by OKC. Probably already an upgrade on Perkins.

Also Philadelphia look set to appoint former Boomers/Sydney Kings coach Brett Brown as their new head coach. Hopefully this former NBL coach lasts longer than the 1 year Mike Dunlap did at Charlotte.

I think the selection the Cavs made at #1 makes a huge statement of their thinking with LeBron James. By going for a small forward type with scoring ability to match with Irving instead of the defensive big in Noel I think we can just about put that idea to bed. Even if you're thinking you're a half decent chance of getting James, you leave that option open by plugging the gaps James won't fix.

I feel for Noel though. Months now he was seen as #1, was built up and with all the expectation on national TV suddenly has to swallow his pride, put on a smile and be happy to be #6. Not an easy thing for a young man, but those are the breaks. I think long term he'll appreciate the lesser pressure and the added motivation. Very interested that no mock draft had the right #1 and none had him higher than #4.

Noel was lookin at 4.4 mill or something for pcl 1. Will end up with around 2.6 mill for pick 6 a year.

If my figures are correct.

Clearly that's wrong. It is of some relevance, but not the whole argument. I've said for years I rate Malone very highly despite winning no rings. But for many people the argument of the GOAT comes down purely to those numbers. I was just simply saying that for those people who argue so and put Wilt #1, #2 or #3 that the argument is invalid. Tell me about his 30PPG average, 22 RPG average and his massive scoring prowess instead.

You will be right in the mix of basketball season. If you want to go to a big game, make sure you search for tickets a while in advance.

Al Jefferson set to sign with Charlotte to a 3 year deal. Good to see MJ get the cheque book out of mothballs and they're also waiving bust Tyrus Thomas.

To facilitate Iguodala's arrival Golden State are trading Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush to Utah for shrapnel.

OJ Mayo has agreed to sign with Milwaukee to a 3 year deal.

Dallas have signed Jose Calderon to a 4 year deal.

JR Smith has re-signed with New York to a 4 year deal.

Kyle Korver agrees to re-sign with Atlanta to a 4 year deal.

Marco Belinelli has signed with San Antonio to a 2 year deal.

Lakers forward Earl Clark has agreed to sign with Cleveland to a 2 year deal.
