Great day and huge crowd, what a joke that these 2 sides only play once this year due to the supposed drop off of one of the clubs. I was talking to a long time Reynella club man and he too cannot recall it ever happening, during this time both clubs have belted one another by 20 plus goals but still played each other twice. I'm sure MV would've done extremely well financially yesterday but Reynella unfortunately miss out on the opportunity to do the same, Reynella should hit the league up for lost revenue. Wonder when the last time the AFL chose to only play Collingwood/Essendon once a year?

Also a great day of footy at the Shoe and a huge crowd.
As I walked of the oval at quarter time with the red coats and stood and looked at the crowd and said this is what local footy is all about?

Unfortunately we also only play you guys once this year so won't be able to enjoy it at home.

Yeah was a great exhibition of "Country" footy, awesome game and great crowd, just a bit disappointed with the result. But M/V played well in particular Corrie and Bode, geez they played well. I bet Bode would love to have some help in the ruck, he looked absolutely exhausted by the end of the game.
Thought Reynella had it sewn up after a great second quarter, but the M/V boys played with a lot of emotion and really got going once the crowd found their voice.

Regardless of the draw/fixture if you told me at the start of the year that after 12 rounds that hackham would be in equal wins with cove and only one game behind Brighton and porties I would've found that hard to believe!!

Surely your note for real. Why is it Morphett Vale and Reynella's right to play twice a year?? How many other clubs are afforded the same privilege?? Not only do the get stand alone games but it is also the right to get two a year... what a crock! You have to be kidding!

Why wouldn't you want this? A good showcase game, always draws a crowd and helps promote the SFL comp. Who else is asking for those 'stand alone' games?
Other clubs get varying degrees of other fundraising opportunities such as hosting finals, doing BBQ/Bar at the GF and sub-junior carnivals etc.

Hahaha, they don't pay so couldn't afford me! ;)
If they were ever going to pay a recruit, a tall CHF/Ruck would be a perfect recruit for them. Hmmm...someone in the mould of say Reid Beeching!

Of coarse he is for real.
No one said that other clubs shouldn't be afforded the same privilege.
These are the games players want to play in, spectators want to watch and clubs can make some money.
Why would he be kidding.

I believe this week is a perfect example why we should have 2 divisions. Wouldn't it be great if we were seeing four sides battle it out for a spot in the top five rather than see who can get the furthest off the bottom of the ladder. Would also help these clubs attract more players. Just my opinion.
