Anyway looks like it could be a wet weekend - hope Bushpigs are put off by the rain.

I wouldn't think that rain will be enough to save the Bushpigs from 21 straight losses against the Vikings.
On the Emus, I did hear the knives out for Coleman earlier in the year, but those voices have gone very, very quiet. Well done to BC, he has them playing some really good and attractive footy.

Would definitely be right up there, although club voting doesn't always align with umpire voting. Why does Bode have an asterisk next to his name on Sporting Pulse? Is this from a suspension or is it just there in error?

The Red Cheese from Towns would surely be in contention, top 5 in league for goal kicking yet is an onballer getting tagged every week.

Will be interesting this year with some clubs like Townies and Christies having more wins. I guess it comes down to if umpires ever notice anyone other than midfielders. ;)

Christies vs MVP - Roos by 48
Cove vs Marion - Cove by 55
Flagstaff vs Reynella - Wineflies by 90
Valley vs Edwardstown - Vikings by 35
Morphett Vale vs Aldinga - Emus by 160
Pt Noarlunga vs Hackham - Porties by 70

Big call on Townies over the Vikings, but do have to say they are certainly a good chance to cause an upset.
Vikings have been challenged hard in the first halves all year, but always finish hard, so will come down to fitness and discipline for Towns. Should be a great game.

I am predicting getting a win over their former coach will be enough to motivate the Vikings to victory if the 2 points arent enough :supz:

The same could be said for Towns, with the ever social Mr Dent being a former Townie player and coach.

This and next week's ladder are a better indication of the competition than at the end of the minor round due to the logic applied to the draw. 5 sides have now played all teams exactly once and after next week it will be the other ten.

Surprises:
- Morphett Vale's quick return to one of elite sides of the comp after missing the finals in 2012
- Morphetville Park's continued rise to become an elite side. Is that well endless?
- Even with a horror season (by their lofty standards) Brighton is still in the eight and probably deserve a finals spot. But with a tough final four games, they will need to earn it
- The rise in fortunes at the beach
- Cove's lacklustre year
- Flagstaff's even more lacklustre year. Shouldn't their junior program being paying dividends in the late game by now?

Not a surprise:
- Hackham's continued improvement. Still a long road ahead to making the top 8. After this week, they will likely be 3 games plus significant percentage outside the 8 and that's playing one more game.... Or will they?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Pretty good wrap there EV.
Agree with most of those. Hackham improvement has still surprised me. Be interesting to see if they continue the rise. IMO, if an opposition pays respect and stops their quality players (same 3ish every week), it will expose the bottom end of the squad. Marty will be aware of that though.
The Winies window is well and truly back open. A great mix of quality and kids has them right in it.
As much as MVale will have a crack this year, they will be well positioned to be a powerhouse in the next 2 or 3. For the first time, they could be in a position to top up their $quad with a recruit or 2.
Cove have been unlucky. Still a quality side on their day, they've lost a couple of close ones and find themselves battling for the 8. Possibly could be playing Porties in the last round to see who makes the 8.
M Park's best is still the biggest danger to the valley, Noarlunga still dangerous with a full side on the park, and Christies have improved, but the long season starting to take its toll with a couple of beltings in recent weeks.
Flaggies have been very disappointing and Brighton have toiled away with an inferior squad this year.
Edwardstown are the team no one talks about, and whilst not convinced they can get to the big dance, the big ovals in the finals will suit their game.
Don't know enough about Sharkies, Lonsdale or Marion, but it looks like they all will struggle for a while yet.

But The valley are the obvious benchmark. Fast, strong, fit, and confident. Ill tip them to beat the twisties by 5-7 goals in the big one.

Brighton have toiled away with an inferior squad this year.

Yes its been a toil but with a very young squad that is starting to play with more consistency as the season gets longer. The B grade have also improved after a slow start. On Saturday we had about 15 or 16 in the B grade who were Under 18 players in either 2012 or 2011 and these lads are just starting to fully adjust to senior footy. Not to mention 3 lads in the A grade who are still Under 18 and only Parkin, Johnstone and Brookman who would be classed as veterans.

Never thought I would be saying it but a massive game against Hackham this week. Not only have they improved but are probably a 10 goal better side now than they were in the early part of the year. The Bombers have picked up some injuries to some key players over the last fortnight and our lads this week have to eradicate any thoughts about the old Hackham and treat them as a worthy opponent that is more than capable of beating us.

Good summary. For mine the three biggest dangers to Valley are the Roos, Emus and Wineflies. Roos held us to a draw, but I think we have improved since then and also blooded new talent. EMus are a far different proposition than when we destroyed them earlier this year and Reynella held us pretty well. The weekends scoreboard will show Edwardstown within 25 points, but considering the conditions it was a very one sided game and Valley never looked in danger. Once the boys worked out how to get around the flood, it was all over.

Flaggies have had a forgettable season, but to be fair have been decimated this year (some quality departures/ big injuries to key players/ Lack of 'big' recruits). Depth has really been tested, last week we had some real 'veterans' running around in the Bs... The As Have shown some promise during games but havent put 4 solid quarters together too many times.

Brighton lost a lot over the pre-season including a handful of top-liners, but I would hardly think they have an inferior squad (Maybe inferior as far as Brighton are concerned, but they have won every B grade flag in recent memory). As DTH mentioned they look to be getting into their stride in the latter part of the season.

Both clubs would not be happy with the season so far thats for sure...

Valleys still the team to beat. Morphy Parks I think are best equipped to challenge them, along with the Flies. Emus you can never discount in finals, particularly on a dry fast ground (I think they are one of the paciest sides going around at the moment). Shoes, Porties and Towns on their day can be dangerous but would need to have 'their day' 3 times in a row come September.

Hackham and Christies the big improvers.
