My days with WWTFC are over - I won't step foot inside Woodville Oval again.
I will go & watch the odd game regardless of the home team (except WWT) - it will involve the 'Vultures', I will pay for entry so the SANFL gets the entry fee, but I will fiercely barrack AGAINST the 'Vultures'.
I hate everything they have become & stand for.

I will continue to attend the SANFL Grand Final - as I have for 31 previous times.

I will buy an SAJC Membership & more often than not go to Morphettville (particularly between August & December).

So your walk around Eagles games with a stupid sign .stand at the gates getting a petition signed .
And things don't go your way and you are no longer an Eagles fan !! And you teach at a private school typical attitude !!!
Goodbye you went to how many games in a year !!!
And before you ask me I have missed one Eagles game back in 2006 . And one trial game this year . And honestly you will not be missed .Don't let the door hit you on the way .
Guess South can spot any easy touch richest club and vote no and everyman and their dog are throwing money at them !!

Oh no... diatribe from someone such as you, how hurtful ... Pfft

Lol ur club will miss every supporter that walks especially considering half of them will now jump ship to the Crows reserves and the other 4 blokes are likely to die within two years

Bullshit the silent majority like myself will keep following the Eagle . the crap that was written in the paper last Saturday was bullshit .
You keep thinking that and we will keep going to the matches .
Keep believing what LEH says and you will get shocked how many of us turn up his brownshirt bully boy tactics fell short of forcing the people to follow what he wanted to happen
I'm 50 and my kid is 24 we aint dying just yet and we will be at the games

"Brown shirt bully boy"???

I admire what you have done LEH. In a perfect world there would be no AFL in the SANFL. I respect your (and others) decision to walk away. I would rather you didn't, I don't think there will be too much difference standing with your boy watching the Eagles play any of the other 7 SANFL clubs to what there is now, but it's your choice.

Anyway, back on topic:

What I don't understand is that those who are choosing to walk away aren't judging those that choose to stay, but some who stay have real venom for some who will leave.

People are upset at this decision to varying degrees, you can't expect everyone to feel the same as you...

Neither is a traitor to the cause.

Cheers Aerie.
For me it's a matter of principle - as I said to Slavin, I understand the Club's decision I just don't agree with it.
FWIW, I will be attending Prospect tomorrow & the remainder of the season but as I said, I will no longer be a member as of the end of the season.

Too make personal attacks on me Micky - that is your choice. Perhaps if you'd bothered to attend the meeting, you may have seen my conversation with him & others, but it is easier to attack me. BTW, I fail to see how attacking my job/career & choice of location to both live & work gives your viewpoint any added power.

See you tomorrow

X2

I do believe the only way to hurt the clubs and make your point is by not attending but can definatly see why people still want to and will continue to go to games.

Personal choice and pointless debate

Aerie (or anyone else), how would you feel if the #%^>~ crows knocked your team out of the finals. And if it was someone like patrenko or Vince that kicked the winning goal?
A team of mostly professionals, beat your team of guys that "bust a gut" to play finals and win a gf. What if the crows play finals, keeping a legitimate team out. This scenario in itself could cost a club over $50,000.
This is why I like dogmatics idea; crows games are like the foxtel cup the team that has performed best wins prize money. At the end of the year.
The crows games don't count for the real comp. so afl players are removed, adding to the integrity of the comp and reducing the disruption to sanfl clubs. Sanfl clubs commit to playing say 65% of the previous weeks playing side (so they don't just rest players).
At the start of the year each club nominates four top up players for the #%^^ crows to select from, other than when playing against their own club. The clubs will nominate good talent as they want the crows to win against the opposition to enhance their own chances of winning the prize money.
This way, the competition is retained as it is now. The crows develop against good competition. There's financial benefit for beating the crows, not relying on crowds. I can't find a problem with the concept.

I don't like any team that knocks the Eagles out of the finals, but as long as all the rules are set out before the season, that is the way it is. If it's an Eagles junior that kicks the winning goal, so be it. We have been lucky to have a lot of our AFL players stay in SA. Once they are on an AFL list they are the AFL club's player. I don't like it, but accept it. I don't like the AFL Rookie list concept, but can't do much about it.

What I will say to the above is we need to make sure our SANFL sides are kept at least as strong as they are now. Don't slash the salary cap or recruiting if it proves Port and the Crows Reserves aren't up to the standard. If Crows prove to be one of the better SANFL sides then the SANFL sides need to do everything they can to get to that level.

I didn't mind the idea of the Crows playing for money. Even if just a trial for the first year to gauge interest. Would've that effected some of the things like the 7mate broadcast deal? I don't know? If Port did that too, that is probably too many games that aren't for premiership points.

The Crows were very rigid in their request. It wouldn't have been easy to deal with, but their cards were laid on the table to make a decision.

Centrals and South used common sense. No point in sending them an email.

It's the other spastic/delusional clubs that need a kick up the arse IMO. Send an email to them!

I'm always there LEH and will always be there . I was at a prearranged union industry function on the night . And I have total faith in Kurt and the board to do the right thing by the WWTFC !!
And I didn't attack your choice of area to live in . Why in hell would I do that and how could I do that. I have no idea where you live and could care less !!

I only interested in watching the Eagles play whoever they face whether its North, Crows, Power, East Fremantle . I don't care who it is unlike some I wont spit the dummy and walk away !!!

You say we are spitting the dummy...

We could say you're a sheep with no principles...

Turn it up, Mick, not everyone has to accept what you do...

You're welcome to keep going, but we are within our rights to think some clubs betrayed the league.

The crows can't currently knock an sanfl team out the finals, nor can bernie Vince currently kick a winning goal against his "original" team.
