Reading what you say.

Fact is you stated you never rated him. I can only read what you have written and you have written that you never rated him. In my eyes, and I can only speak for myself but assume others would agree, that reads that you have never rated him in any facet. Is the reader supposed to make assumptions about what you have written by interpreting what you haven't written?

Before Hird was a coach he was a player, if you have never rated him then your statement means that you never rated him as a player.

Comprende?

You're right about one thing you are making assumptions. It's your problem if you interpret it that way but do not tell me that is what I meant. Im telling you right now that is not what i meant. Perhaps what you need to do for future reference is to think before commit to posting pusillanimous statements, knowing the history in other threads your vexatious nature and your apocryphal posts. The sentence is question mentions his arrogance not his playing ability. Next time ill be sure to use one syllable words so you can interpret it correctly and ill add synonyms just so you don't lose the thread of what I'm saying and can consolidate the meaning.

At no point was I assuming anything, I was interpreting what you stated as all people have to on a public forum. Personally if I didn't rate someone in only one facet i.e. personality I would outline that.

Was probably a tad harsh questioning your knowledge of football but in my interpretation of your statement you were wrong but I would hardly think that calling you on that is a cowardly statement. If you find my posts annoying that is your opinion but it is also your opinion as to the accuracy of them I really couldn't give a rats arse what you do/don't believe.

I find it slightly childish to suggest that you are so far above me in intellect that I can't carry on a discussion without dumbing it down but I guess that's how you have interpreted my response.

FWIW, I have never rated Hird either BUT he was a brilliant footballer in his day.

As for Essendon the only thing I like about them is their guernsey.

Play on.

What a mess.

For all the good Hird did 15/20 years ago as a player, it appears his lasting legacy on the Essendon FC will be a negative one.

Not saying though that other parties dont have a share of blame, including the AFL itself.

Another bloody Hird presser. When will the bloke work out he needs to STFU?

We all waited with anticipation for week after week while the AFL said nothing and couldn't figure out why. Meanwhile Golden Jim fires off one shot after another in the media thinking he's doing the right thing. Well Jim, you should have shut up 6 months ago and said nothing until the investigation was finished and charges laid and either proven or not. Now any respect most people have for him has diminished as he rattles on and on about how innocent he and all the other parties are.

Fair dinkum, the bloke is now looking a serious goose and I cant wait for the AFL to finally bring the sledge hammer down.

Since Hird took over he has had a pre match presser every Friday at roughly the same time.
Usually chats about team selection and other game related stuff.
Unless something drastic has happened overnight I cant see this being anything other than a regular presser.
I may be wrong though

Why do people have trouble differentiating between great people and great footballers? They aren't mutually exclusive. Why the shock when a gun footballer turns out to be an arrogant person? Carey, Roo, Hird, Buckley would all be described as arrogant yet they were great players.

Put someone on a pedestal and the only thing they can do is fall.

Strange that Hird wasnt at the presser I must admit.
The clubs official line is that he was held up at a meeting and they didnt want to cancel the presser so Goodwin took over.
Plenty of people running with the story that Hird is locked away in Little's office getting his marching orders

That was actually Turbo that wrote that if you look back through the posts. It was also Turbo who stuffed up when he hit quote, then had to delete some quotes to submit his reply which then made it look like me saying pusillanimous, vexatious & apocryphal. I'm the one who submitted F@#$en what. I've got no idea what those words mean.
