Well done to both you guys Zed and HBF. You were both great supporters of me last year and now it's your turn in the sun. The one thing I was strong on with my lads was if you are going up a level then go up winners. Sincerely wish you both well in what will be a very, very big day for both clubs. :)

thanks for your support yankman..a long 2 weeks to wait now :)

I saw a bit of Rosewater and Lockleys game Saturday, caught up with a couple of old Lockleys heads in Dario Gruber and Ranks.
Thought Lockleys looked a quicker side but passing inside forward 50 was pretty bad. Rosewater looked a lot more dangerous going forward but to me look a little top heavy around the ground.

Thanks to the WOS B grade lads for not only the tightly contested game on the weekend but also the great battles we had during the year. You know you’re playing a good bunch when you’re having a laugh at the start of a cut throat final about exactly whose waterboy is whose. I still cant work it out BTW. Also a class act for the coach to wish us well after losing an elimination final, that would not have been easy, Scooter also meant to do the same but got a bit caught with us. Always a pleasure playing WOS and if you don’t make it to the granny will be good to do it all again next year.

morell’s highlights from the weekend:

The Rosewater Football Club facilities, nicer than my house.
The Lockleys Football Club water girls, be still my beating heart!
Joe Leck’s comment that the lost Lockley’s water bottles must be in the showers, whilst showering, when the aforementioned water girls were looking for them.
The wanna-be hipster WOS supporters beard – impressive.
Brad Steele.

morell’s lowlights from the weekend:

The Rosewater Football Club’s oval – WTF happened?!!
The Lockleys Football Club taking 6 years to get out of their change rooms and ruining my afterglow.
Mitchell Park, despite being the “home” team, being put in the visitor change rooms. I don’t understand.
Umpiring. One great the other a complete and utter disaster. Would rather WOS’s club umpire. Mistakes happen, but blatant lack of knowledge about the rules of the game are inexcusable.

No need for such comments when you have a batting average like Sir Donald Bradman but a technique like Stuart Broad

Haha, c’mon Freo, that’s harsh man, harsh. I thought we were mates? Like to think I can make the tail wag at the end of the innings with a couple of flukey cow corners.

Nah, I just liked the cut of her jib. A pretty girl walked into the MPFC change rooms (sounds like the start of a bad joke) after a finals win and caused a bit of a stir as you could imagine. She handled herself with aplomb and had a sense of humour. Seemed like a top football person!

Morrel - oval = rain made the centre square a bit muddy in patch's - sorry about the circle but we decided that might be an advandtage for us in the a grade and the rest of the oval having sanna anna in parts with cold weather makes it go brown and look dead! looks awesome in summer!

change rooms i have no idea, i was surprised westminster was in them myself

and the reason they took so long to come out is that you started early...your club got an email stating although the game started early you wouldnt be able to access rooms so if you wanted to leave early to take everything out.

Bradman i noticed R. Medhurst was back in the side this week, he mentioned to me last weekend that he has not played in any of the A grades defeats this year after being dropped with a couple of games to go in the minor rounds, is it fair to say he is somewhat a cult figure down at doggy land, and surely the coaching staff wouldnt be looking at leaving him out for the rest of the finals campaigne

just ask all our side, we have 21 cult figures!!!!!
And he has played in a loss....but dont let that get in the way of one of his famous stories!
If only he could mark a ball inside 50!

I watched the Rosewater and Lockleys game also. Its the first game I've seen this year, and was quit surprised by the standard, considering everything I have read on this forum this year. It may have been an off week, but I though the standard of football was terrible. At one stage, the skill errors were laughable, didn't seem to be any real game plan from either side, and the decision making was like both teams were playing their first game for the year.... you could have been excused for thinking both sides were at the bottom of the ladder.

I'm not meaning to sound condescending at all, but is there any other thoughts on the game from other people that saw it?

All good man, yeah last time I played on Rosies oval it was perfect. Almost looked like you guys re sodded a bunch of it and it just didn't take - but you're saying that those parts are a different type of grass? It wasn't too muddy just appeared as though no grass at all on perhaps a third of the oval, that combined with the sprouts of really thick grass made the surface very unpredictable and my knee wince.

Yeah I don't know about the change rooms either, not at all a big deal but surprising nonetheless. Perhaps just an honest mistake. We took it as Rosewater trusted the toffee WOS boys more than us feral Parky lads not to destroy the place..

Understand we started early and we were happy to wait to help out the WOS boys and get them back to CLG, but Rosies were out and warming up at least 10 minutes earlier than Locks. It was odd to see such a discrepancy between warm up start times is all.

All good mate, just nit picking, all in all a very enjoyable day and thank you for the hospitality. As I said the facilities are second to none in the amateur league I suspect.

I can shed some light on this one. Lockleys and Rosewater were both asked if they wanted to start early. Lockleys said yes, Rosewater said no. Even though Rosewater came out early, the coach wanted them back in the rooms for last minute 'motivation'. Lockleys had no choice but to wait until the normal start time!
