Thought Lockleys looked a quicker side but passing inside forward 50 was pretty bad. Rosewater looked a lot more dangerous going forward but to me look a little top heavy around the ground.
I watched the Rosewater and Lockleys game also. Its the first game I've seen this year, and was quit surprised by the standard, considering everything I have read on this forum this year. It may have been an off week, but I though the standard of football was terrible. At one stage, the skill errors were laughable, didn't seem to be any real game plan from either side, and the decision making was like both teams were playing their first game for the year.... you could have been excused for thinking both sides were at the bottom of the ladder.
I'm not meaning to sound condescending at all, but is there any other thoughts on the game from other people that saw it?
your right in the way of turnovers where up by both sides!
was it due to pressure?? who knows
i know our tackle count was well up on previous weeks

Brett is very passionate, and extremely intense about his coaching and a great teacher of the game. We have been incredibly lucky to have him with us at the club, he will be sorely missed.
In my opinion several young players within the group will take quite a lot of what they have learned from their experience with Brett into the rest of their playing days and that will make them all the better for it.
He put a lot of love into his role and demanded it back, unfortunately I don't believe everyone in the playing group was aware of this!!
We wish Brett and his family, all the best, and with his future endeavours and I am certain they will be successful.
Hopefully we are able to acquire the services of someone of similar calibre to continue the good work that he started!!
CC17 Yep, you witnessed an out of form Rosewater ( they have been much better throughout the year ) beat an even worse Lockleys side. I can't make excuses we were less than ordinary on the day but I do wonder what you were doing at Rosies whilst the Cats ( who I believe you were assisting) were getting beaten at home???
DD besides this one the other games were against Mitchell Park and Adelaide Uni you attended,(assuming that you have not indeed been watching another D6 team) given they were bottom 2 maybe not the best form to go on!! Again I agree it was a terrible performance but I don't think that is all that unusual from Finals on a ground affected by weather. I also agree that WOS will play CLG in the big one but I don't think you needed to be Nostradamus to come up with that!!
I am sure the intensity from both will be far more than what you witnessed last Saturday but I won't be surprised to see the skill levels drop from either or both on the day.

I am certainly not making excuses for our "less than average performance" it is, what it is!!
I am not trying to offend anyone but I think the bloke with the dark glasses and the Labrador can see a WOS VS CLG grand final!!!
The talk of Lockleys being clean in the wet came from an ex MPFC coach after watching one game against a team that finished 2nd Bottom.
Agreed The standard was sub standard.
What I don't get is being some one who has played a substantial amount
of years at Lockleys, and knowing DD has been a quality coach/runner/committee member/president/probably missed a couple more roles!! at the club. You somehow were not able to catch up with him at the game to discuss how poor it was but had to wait until you got on your keyboard to ask the question!!There was not that many there!! You obviously walked to the huddles at the breaks as you know the condition of the ground, yet somehow you still missed him!! Fancy talking about the game that your watching, interesting concept.
I am not defensive about poor performances! I am disappointed at them! Not just the one on Saturday.

Lol, I did catch up with DD on the day, and enjoyed a beer with him, although he was drinking bourban.... I was just interested in how other people viewed the game, so I could get a better understanding of how people viewed the standard of football in div 6, as DD has been privy to different standards over the past few years

This is the best overall standard Div 6 I have seen, by that I mean the depth of the teams is extraordinary - not necessarily in the standard of play or the precision of the kicks. Only need to look at Rosewater, undefeated for much of the year, lose Schar and a couple more and they got 30 goals kicked on them by CLG ...
Everyone would probably look at Mitchell Park and see that we finished second to bottom and lost more games than we won, but we were only 2 games out of the 5, knocked off WOS and BOS and beat CU twice. We were competitive in every game except maybe BOS and CLG away. We improved on last year and recruited well after winning the D7 flag but the sheer quality of the sides was simply too good this year.
