everyone was at The Vines yesterday!!!

A pity they are doing work on the greens for those that went there yesterday who arent regulars there, cos putts dont roll out fairly

the weather was quite good

hit a front 9 of 44

only played 12 holes

I'd kill to take 44 over nine holes!

Vines in great nick apart from the greens, but they have to be done sometime I suppose.
Worst thing was having to clean your ball after every putt due to the wet sand sticking to your ball.
Only had 35 putts, so I was happy with my putting, but there was an awful lot of the dreaded "Toc" sound of ball on wood off the tee

I ddnt worry too much about cleaning the ball after a putt, I figured it really isn't going to have that much of an impact on whether the ball will drop or not!

Grrrr, haven't played since May and to turn up and see the greens resembling a beach was pretty disappointing, I know they have to do it sometime but a blower vac over them greens would have got rid of the surface sand and made them much more bearable.

Played ordinary with a pair of 49's, only real highlight was a birdie on the long 4th, drive 9 iron and made a 25 foot putt down the hill.

go get ****** Dutchy

im still trying to work out that green and the slope!!!!

I hope you lads got in before 11, because it seemed there was a golf day of some description.

there was a group of 4 in front of me, that I was catching up too when I stopped after 12, and one of the lads in that group seemed to be hitting the wood with some fairly regularity, for a minute there I thought I was at the Royal SHow wood chopping comp

and to the group of 4 youngsters, yes they let me play through, but when you are on a green on a par 3 it would be nice to call up those on the tee and to stop ******* around on the green and get on with the game.....

Hope it was not me pal, but we did not have anyone behind us for a fair stretch. We teed off at 11 and had carts so I thought we were pretty quick. The youngsters let us thru on the 10th.

Comps are still doing my head in. But they're more fun than just a casual hit with nothing on the line. Haha.

It does add a bit more to it. I've played in two and won the first one and finished second last in the other. Will be nice to play all comps on the one course so I can learn from what I did wrong the previous round.

I was runner up in the C grade on Saturday and third overall the week before at Darke Peak. In a field of 5 that day. Haha

So, you can win $2 all up? Haha. We could play a $1 a hole. I'll ask the other lads. :D

$3 is the maximum. Play in Pairs with teams decided by tossing golf balls over a shoulder. The closest two team up and the furthest 2.

Best Stableford score of the pair vs the other best score. At the end of the match you pay 1 team member from the winners.
