Few things;

I phoned up during the week and asked if they had wi-fi in the betting area. No, they didn't. I wanted to use my account to bet but couldn't. I had to use my phone instead which was annoying.

Secondly, beer prices, 8.50 for a Corona, 6.50 for Super Dry in a plastic cup.

Lastly, I had Rivers slides on my feet. I wasn't allowed to get in the Diva Lounge downstairs. Even though females were let in with two bits of cardboard on their feet.

So for the SAJC to move into the 21st century....

Free entry, free wi-fi, cheapen up the beer and drinks and encourage people to get back to the races!

Ill never go again as General Admin, Melbourne Cup day last year was a horrible day, full of made up useless, confusing rules.
It's all been bought up before to SAJC, they just don't give a shit. Spoke to an employee who has been there for years, offered ideas, they ignore them, or don't follow through with an idea. By the way, always have asked at Morphettville, what do you get for entry fee.

How do you know they don't follow through with the idea? For things to change you need people at the top to be on board, not just people in the middle. I totally agree with your sentiments about the industry but it really is a struggle to get things changed and this is from experience.

Pup, they answered my exact question about the same thing. They asked me to document my questions and concerns (in letter form - which is very circa 1990 but nevertheless), I will do it in due course and let you know.

You serious? Why should they provide wifi ? Use 3g you tight arse. (Complaining about beer prices and wearing cheap shitty Rivers shoes is a dead giveaway).
(TSG, if you call me tightarse and you don't know me, then it's game on)

My answer to your question was the original question

TO

GET

PEOPLE

TO

THE

RACES

D*CKHEAD

I tried to use 3g on my phone but the lag was horrendous (I'm on Optus) But I use Betfair. I prefer Betfair SP, which is not available on mobile. Hence I'd prefer taking my ipad which is wireless.

Just in case you're trying to pick a fight, I'm trying to encourage people going to the races. Are you suggesting to increase beer prices or just NOT wearing Rivers??

You're like In The Chair. Happy to pot people but not providing suggestions on improvement. So here's your chance. Everyone awaits with baited breath.
I wouldn't worry about TSG Gadg, his suggestions would include a bridge, so he could live under it.

The person I spoke too, is employed by the SAJC, I voiced my opinions to him, he told me they have received the same ideas from many people, they review them, either do it half arsed for a short amount of time, or say they will look into the idea.

Thanks Heli

I appreciate the support. I do think people like him are on the board of the SAJC and leading them into the 1990's.

Anyone got any early picks for the Golden Rose Saturday?

I don't like gai, but think Pitcrew is overs @ $34.
Really liked Dissident, until drew near the carpark.
Eurozone, Cluster, Sidestep and Drago are others I like.

Think Prince Harada and Fast n Rocking are massive risks at their current quotes.

PS will there be a SAFOOTY Star Stable League this year??

They are going on and on about Atlantic Jewel winning. It beat a extremely weak field, it won easy, but not worth going on and on about.

Yes, that was unbelievable - would have to be one of the runs of the year for a horse that didn't win and you could get $14 for the place for it on fixed at 1pm today.
Interesting situation with promising stayer Star Rolling that was forced to run at Ballarat on Thursday - a meeting that was abandoned - as it has been balloted out of preferred Saturday races even though it is quite obviously a star in the making.

How about Happy Trails being a late scratching due to a puncture wound on its neck. Trainer will be in some grief I'd suspect.

Something isnt right, I know Ken is scratching his head, even his poor runs in the past have been midfield, its not like him to drop out and not at least put in a burst at some point.

Might be time to chuck him out and bring him back next year for one last prep.

On the positive apparently Call Centre's first filly is doing everything right in track work, just keeping fingers crossed!!

I had a go at the double trio for an interest

A mate was telling me bout it.

I told him that whatever numbers you take you should also take them in a tri and first 4

So I take my double trio
I get it for free as Part of promo

$33.60 for 2%

Hit first leg and the FF

Of course I don't take my own advice and missed out on a share of the $23k FF

Second leg
Six runners
Top 5 favs

The only number I ended up different to my mate wss the bloody six which got second

First-third-fourth

As it was it paid $93k
It wouldn't pay that with my combo but as it was a freebie it would have been nice
