Is the use of the word "dough" a hint to who that may be.

PS: I think everyone including the player and his club are fully aware of a regrettable act on Saturday so I don't think much more is achieved by continued mischievous comments on the matter. Hopefully the footy will do all the talking this weekend.

The SFL have a duty of care to act!
There have been many case where legal action has been taken and tribunal has still played its role in the correct time and manner.
The SAAFL have had 4 case this year where similar incidents have occurred with 10 week penalties and legal action has followed.

I believe the league has been quite good in this regard over the years. I remember a certain ruckmen getting a couple of 10+ game suspensions over a decade ago
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

How is the lad recovering from E.T?
really hard to believe this allegeded incident coming from the named player, a real decent bloke. What was he thinking?

He is recovering as good as can be expected considering his jaw is banded shut and he will be eating through a straw for the next 5 weeks.
Certainly was a brave and courageous act by that decent bloke!

Not good to hear and I am sure the whole football community including all at HV wish him a speedy recovery

Maybe the HV players or club could put together the money out of this weeks players payments to cover his lost salary? That right there would be more than words......

Hilarious, I have no doubt after your comment earlier I.e he was into Macca all day, shows you have no idea what was going on during the day. Too much time in the mens room by the sound of it.

OK, here's the "elephant in the room" as far as I'm concerned ... there were a multitude of League Board Members and officials present at this game. Any or all of these people can lodge a report in their own right, so they don't have to wait for a club report.

It seems clear to me (and I was at the ground, but like most people I didn't see the incident just the immediate aftermath) that given that an incident obviously happened (no-one other than the two players within 50m - and a player with massive facial injuries) that needed attention, that one of those officials should havie initiated a report rather than waiting for the club to do it. Then they could have informed Happy Valley (and the player) on the day that they needed to prepare for the Tribunal on Tuesday.

Quite simple really, and none of this unending conjecture, and some chance of getting the whole thing settled before the finals continue.

Mind you, the other "elephant" is that I'd also expect that the HVFC would be taking some internal action of their own given that their Captain is alleged to have indulged in an act of alleged thuggery. I'd have thought that a club that holds itself so high and espouses good sportsmanship and family values would want to be seen to be taking appropriate action to express that this alleged action does not represent the ethos of the Happy Valley Football Club.

Just sayin .......

Who knows,.....they withdrew the Murphy report by all accounts so anything is possible...... If stories of the alleged culprit prancing around the club very happy with himself on Sat night are true, the HVFC committee may very well respond as you've suggested as I'm sure most if not all SFL clubs would.

If he was, as you say, "prancing around the club very happy with himself on Sat night" then I would have serious doubts .... surely the club may have had some thoughts that some action was required by that stage ????

Sad part is I know all the players involved, but, the eerie part is Towns sacked Dinger some years ago after winning a flag and now he has the second laugh. This goes way beyond normal footy. Sad for the player concerned and I feel for him but you let what takes place, take place. HVFC continue on for another flag. ;)

You seriously condone what happened on the field? There is no place in footy for that behaviour and if that is your attitude any club is best off without you.

I'm not sure what you mean by "This goes way beyond normal footy", and "you let what takes place, take place". Are you really saying that if the Captain takes out arguably the best player in the opposition 50m away from the play, inflicting horrendous injuries, and THAT IS OK ??????

No I don't 1919. And there is no place in footy for that kind of behavior, but you are doing your club no justice by posting madly, FFS get off the forum and let justice take it's place. FFS again, Dinger will win and you will lose, that is what he pines for. ;)

You really need to stop talking crap on here mate and control your emotions a bit. He wasn't even back at the club on Saturday night due to other things. Yes he may have done something silly but he is still one of the best blokes in footy I have ever met or played with and like yank man said, just let natural justice take its course.

Well those stories are not true so you have just proven yourself to be a total idiot

In relation to a report being made by one of the many SFL Maroon Coats there on Saturday I am sure that the club would have preferred to get this matter over and done with quickly rather than letting it drag on for another week but that would involve the SFL making a decision and as has been demonstrated by the Future Directions debacle they dont like doing that.
