The SFL have a duty of care to act!
There have been many case where legal action has been taken and tribunal has still played its role in the correct time and manner.
The SAAFL have had 4 case this year where similar incidents have occurred with 10 week penalties and legal action has followed.

How is the lad recovering from E.T?
really hard to believe this allegeded incident coming from the named player, a real decent bloke. What was he thinking?
He is recovering as good as can be expected considering his jaw is banded shut and he will be eating through a straw for the next 5 weeks.
Certainly was a brave and courageous act by that decent bloke!
Not good to hear and I am sure the whole football community including all at HV wish him a speedy recovery

Maybe the HV players or club could put together the money out of this weeks players payments to cover his lost salary? That right there would be more than words......

OK, here's the "elephant in the room" as far as I'm concerned ... there were a multitude of League Board Members and officials present at this game. Any or all of these people can lodge a report in their own right, so they don't have to wait for a club report.
It seems clear to me (and I was at the ground, but like most people I didn't see the incident just the immediate aftermath) that given that an incident obviously happened (no-one other than the two players within 50m - and a player with massive facial injuries) that needed attention, that one of those officials should havie initiated a report rather than waiting for the club to do it. Then they could have informed Happy Valley (and the player) on the day that they needed to prepare for the Tribunal on Tuesday.
Quite simple really, and none of this unending conjecture, and some chance of getting the whole thing settled before the finals continue.
Mind you, the other "elephant" is that I'd also expect that the HVFC would be taking some internal action of their own given that their Captain is alleged to have indulged in an act of alleged thuggery. I'd have thought that a club that holds itself so high and espouses good sportsmanship and family values would want to be seen to be taking appropriate action to express that this alleged action does not represent the ethos of the Happy Valley Football Club.
Just sayin .......

Who knows,.....they withdrew the Murphy report by all accounts so anything is possible...... If stories of the alleged culprit prancing around the club very happy with himself on Sat night are true, the HVFC committee may very well respond as you've suggested as I'm sure most if not all SFL clubs would.

You seriously condone what happened on the field? There is no place in footy for that behaviour and if that is your attitude any club is best off without you.
