Wouldn't mind Luke Shuey at the tigers, maybe we can strike a deal there... the West is where all the illicit drug activity takes place so Martin would fit in nicely there :)

Seems he might have wanted too much or too long on the deal.

Question is, how much is too much and how much is he worth? He'd have to be a $300-350k player I would think. Trade, Richmond would want a first round pick and a player....?

If Dale Thomas can get $700k per season, I think you're well under the mark of what Martin would be likely to negotiate. I reckon he'd be looking for around $500k

EDIT: According to SEN Richmond have offered him $500k and wont budge, be he wants $600k

I assume with his behavioral history, he'll have conditions on him no matter where he goes.

Ive heard that Mark Williams has regular meetings with him to make sure he's doing the right thing, also making sure he's doing the regular things like paying his rent. I dont know if thats true or not, but if it is that could affect which clubs want to pick him up.

I heard a player saying that in a interview how martin has to do that stuff, its a part of trying to help him mature as a person etc.

I would have thought $400k would have been top end for him. $600k is overs for mine.

GWS or Gold Coast will give him 600K. No problem.

Dustin has the potential to be the best player in the comp, but hasn't played consistent elite-level football yet, and is a greedy prick who doesn't appreciate what the Richmond Football Club has done for him. He didn't even know how to pay a phone bill. Trent Cotchin took him into his home for six months, so did Craig Cameron. So disappointing to lose the talent, but if you're not buying into what everyone else is, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out pal.

We'll get decent compensation and will now be able to give Conca a few extra $$ that he deserves.

Richmond could probably get someone decent from the Crows. That could be their way of getting a decent player while they're out of the first rounds of the draft. I dont know who Richmond would want though.

Package Martin up with someone else & go get the number 1 draft pick from GWS if he wants to go there.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

It makes Richmond the best placed team to deal with GWS to get the number 1 pick. They have plenty of the middle aged players that GWS would also want in addition to Martin for the number 1 pick.

They could also just tell Dusty to walk & get him pick 1 in the pre season draft which would be a disaster for Richmond.

They would want someone the crows aren't willing to give up. Crows are one of those teams that don't know how the trade system works.

I'm sure there are others who GWS would have their eye on for that pick.
