Re: Nathan Bassett
MElbourne, not West Coast is the 3rd club I'd Heard). Essendon seems to be the most likely destination though

Would have thought Melbourne might be the ideal spot as the Senior Assistant to take over from Roos in 2016

A 'prick'? Really?
In all honesty Dedja, if Nathan Bassett were Glenelg's coach, had just made the Tigers back2back Premiers with a good chance to win the next 2 flags, thus doubling Glenelg's entire history of SANFL Premierships and all without swapping wives, how then would you describe him mate ???

Tsk, tsk, selective quoting
Full quote here ...
Being on the wrong side of town, I have mates who are in the inner sanctum at the Parade ... the word 'prick' usually comes up in conversation about His Figjamness.
Amazingly, it doesn't affect his coaching, so there's no denying he's bloody good.

If the figures are true, then $150K is the very low end for an AFL assistant whilst $80K is an insult, and Bass would be getting more than that at Norwood.
I think the fella's a prick, but looks like he's quite within his rights on this one and good luck to him for sticking to his guns.

Re: Nathan Bassett
WEST Coast has joined Essendon in seeking SANFL premiership coach Nathan Bassett as an AFL assistant coach.
But the Eagles deny they have put a three-year offer before Bassett as West Coast strives to complete the new coaching panel around novice Adam Simpson.
West Coast football operations chief Craig Vozzo last night confirmed the Eagles' move on Bassett.

So CDFC have officially given up on legally competing with the Norwood premiership machine ?

From Norwood Football Club:
Dear Members and Supporters
Today Nathan Bassett has informed the Club that he has accepted a role with the Essendon Football Club in the AFL.
We have been in discussions with Nathan throughout the latter part of the season to assure him that the Norwood Football Club understands his desire to pursue his ambition to Coach at the highest level but if an appropriate offer was not available that we want him to be Senior Coach at the Norwood Football Club for as long as possible.
The offer that Nathan has accepted is a great opportunity for him to continue his Coaching development and we wish him every success and we know that Essendon have made a great appointment.
Although we are sad to be losing Nathan he has established a legacy that will endure for many years here at Norwood and the Board is determined that our next Senior Coach will continue to build on the success of our back to back Premierships.
Nathan leaves the Norwood Football Club with a record that may never be broken and the gratitude of the Board, the Members and Supporters and we wish Nathan and his family all the very best with this appointment and with their move to Melbourne.
We will continue to keep our Members and supporters informed as we now progress the process of appointing a successor to Nathan.
