EAGLES ANNOUNCE NEW SIGNINGS
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of two quality SANFL players to bolster its playing list from 2014. Michael
Wundke and James Boyd will join the club from South Adelaide and Central District respectively.
Michael Wundke, 25, joins the club after kicking 180 goals for South Adelaide from 2011 to 2013. Michael is a dual Ken Farmer Medallist, a SANFL State Representative and provides the Eagles with genuine firepower up forward. He will reunite with former team mate Andrew Ainger to add to the club’s goal kicking capability.
Senior Coach, Michael Godden said “With the significant losses of Day, Staple (unavailable for 2014) and Salter in our forward line it was important to secure a powerful straight kicking forward. I am rapt with the inclusion of Michael. With Adam Grocke back to full fitness next year and Andrew Ainger going into his second year the forward line looks good and one that we can have confidence kicking into.”
24 year old midfielder, James Boyd, comes to the club with a successful SANFL career spanning 110 games. He is a SANFL State representative and a high Magarey Medal vote getter. He was runner up in the 2008 Magarey Medal and polled most votes in the 2012 medal, but was ineligible. His genuine speed and ball getting ability will strengthen the club’s mid field.
Coach Michael Godden said “With the inclusion of James in our midfield gives us the point of difference we haven’t had in the past. 4 years ago we would
have loved to have James but at the time we weren’t in a position so to finally secure him is fantastic for our club. James brings with him some good experience and coupled with his work ethic he will be important in the rejuvenation of our young midfield.”
Both Michael Wundke and James Boyd were named in the 2013 SANFL Advertiser Team of the Year.
Please join the WWTFC in welcoming Michael and James to the club.

Matt Turner wrote:James Allan agrees to return to North Adelaide next season
TRIPLE Magarey Medallist James Allan is set to play for North Adelaide next season after reaching an agreement with the club.
Allan has been in talks with the Roosters since last month and will make his return official by signing a contract when he is back in Adelaide in coming weeks.
The 28-year-old midfielder left North at the end of 2012 to return home to Lara, Victoria, where he played alongside his brother, Sam, this season.
But he is coming back to SA to work as a Year 4 teacher at Prince Alfred College.
Roosters chief executive Greg Edwards said the club looked forward to having Allan in red and white again.
"He has agreed to come back and we want him here, it's just a matter of signing a contract," Edwards said.
Meanwhile, North has signed Port Adelaide Magpies talls Tom Sandercock, Corey Grove and Alex Barns.
Grove, 24, played 15 league games for the Magpies from 2011-13, while Barns, 20, chalked up two games this season.
Sandercock, 20, has yet to make his league debut.
Grove, Sandercock and Barns loom as possible replacements for delisted Power forward Daniel Stewart who is returning to Melbourne to be closer to family, and Crows-listed spearhead Lewis Johnston.
