C,mon finding facts, thats enough of the "small" talk, it only makes for a "short" conversation. There are "higher" goals in life if you dont "look down" at people. Hope this "wee" bit of advise has'nt gone "over your head" too easily or i'll need to "combover" and show ya how to "brush it aside"

yeah Fax G.Cooke was named in the side. Unfortunately a recent corked thigh flared up early in the first game and he was off and took no further part in the day ive heard. Also word has it that Beau Bysters (Hamley Bridge) suffered a knee injury and was strechered off in the first game too. Bad news for Hamley as they struggle to find consistency in there game. Will be a big loss if the injury is serious. Hopefully its not too bad for Beau.
Anyone get down and watch the game?

i see the juniors did not fare too well,is this due to the cut off date(u17s) is end of June in most league`s and APFL is January, gawler barossa league is one such league,in which we r currently loosing young players too. so they get that extra year in juniors(mum made me) :(

why r u confused ? what was the age ruling rooster? what i am asking !, was and or if the 6 month difference was taken into account in selecting the junior side for association matches.PS 6 month extra development at this age is very significant.

No mate, confused about some comments made previously on this thread, some blokes talking about hair and size, it's all very cryptic.

But are you talking about senior colts? if so they were just not up to it unfornuatley, Northern area's were a far superior outfit and monstered all before them. some good kids to come through though.

I was at the carnival on Saturday, and i could not help but think why bother playing in a carnival if each team does not get a chance to play all other participants. I mean i look back on it now and think well are NE really the best league in our zone???and frankly i dont think they are, but the outcome of the carnival suggests this and that yorkes are a better comp than us!! Yeah my arse!! The carnival was a poor representation of our leagues potential.

By the way, Jared Wilson and Mark Pym had better not be playing this week after obviously not being available. Jared in particular, why wasnt he playing, he played the week prior with no troubles? Oh thats right he was a selector!!!! :? :? The old two sets of rules coming into play for the apfl again!!! Yet Youngy from virginia cops a week automatically for being honest a fortnight ago saying he s not available and chances were that he would not have made the team anyway when he informed the coach.
So what do they pick thier best team, then if any of these players cant play is it a weeks suspension, or if any one of the players in the squad say they are unavailable (even if they not gonna make the final team) they get a week anyway.
Its all garbage to me and many others around the league!!!!!!!!

NEFL won both games so they are better? Yorke Penisula League is a better comp than the APFL even though recent Assoc games havnt proved this, the depth of all team is far greater. When you have 9 Teams you are going to get a better comp than a 7 team comp.

are you sure J Wilson was a selector?? I reckon it is probably fair that if a team has provided 4 players already it is not a huge concern if a couple decide not to play. If hummocks supply 5 players that is one fifth of the team. Then there would be an uproar that its because he is a selector and thats why so many eagles players are playing. Which if memory serves me correctly, was an argument by someone a few pages earlier about last years team. Damned if do, damned if you dont. There are 7 teams and surely each team has at least 3 or four players good enough to make it. Jarod is also 28 now so goes against this so called youth policy the league has which in itself is a joke. Just because you are young does not necessarily make you good enough which is back to the argument about picking players on form. Seems to be a contradiction. As for the set up of the competition, we spend our how lives playing a game of footy over 4 qtrs then for a game of the 'best of the best' it is played over halves? Go figure!!
Thats my 2 cents worth

ok doke Mo, Youngy was selected by, well, the selectors and Jared was not that is the first thing to consider here.

Now, i have it on good authority that Jared Wilson was a selector, but he had very little to do with the actual side in the wash up, he wasn't there and certainly wasn't mentioned over the bar afterwards at the pub, his brother Joel became a key advisor. Whether Jared spoke with Mossy/seection comittee and told them he wasn't up to it or whatever is anyone's guess but i'm pretty sure that if he wasn't picked he shouldn't have played.

Youngy is a bit stiff but i can also appreciate the leagues decision to penalise blokes who were not available. now before you all get up me, the league and the blokes that went around at snowtown last week take pride in Assoc games and we most certainly do not want to be in the same situation as other leagues in having good players running around and for whatever reason do not want to play. To be honest you want the best players in your comp. then if you cannot have all of them you have the best available, you don't want to have to go much further than that in Assoc footy.

Did youngy train at all with the squad? i'll probably need to look into that.

Whatever the outcome we could argue the toss all day and not find a reolution so we have to lick our wounds and get back on with the job as the carnival is headed our way next year, probably Balak if i were to guess.
