Isnt it amazing how people submize and make up stories.
Number 1: Rosewater was struggling at the beginning of the year because the original coach had a personal illness, and at that time of the year it was hard to find a coach. We got Billy Schutt on board as A grade coach, and Chappy as B grade coach.. During pre-season training, Peter Shepard was standing near the fence, one pre-season training, Chappy went over and spoke to him and he trained with us 6-8 weeks. He did go up to Victorian League, he was getting sick of travelling, the football director approached him, he is now assistant coach and people can submize all they wish how much he is getting paid!!! Isnt it amazing how people are still on Rosies back, and still wanting them to FAIL??? Rosies have now got 40 out on track, they have got 2 young sides, will be very, very competitive and are building for the future!! EVERYBODY HAS TO GO THROUGH THE ROUGH PATCHES!!! Fitzroy did for a year, and now they are back, St Pauls did, for a couple of years and now they are back..

ARE THERE ANY MORE QUESTIONS OR RUMOURS YOU WANT PUT TO BED???

Saw Shepherd first hand on the weekend - the bloke can play. Kicked 4 goals against us, and i thought the 2 guys who stood him, at different times, both did well. Looks deceptively slow, but can really move when needs to. Strong hands and great kick, will give opposition teams plenty of headaches in the second half of the year.
Im sure Rosewater will upset a few teams too, they have a fair dinkum crack. If Shepherd fires, they will be tough to beat.

From what I have heard from a good source at Bamera - Monash Peter Shepard was approached by the Goolwa / Port Elliot FC late in 06 for the 2007 season in the GSFL and asked for $800 per game. The recruiting committee told him thanks but no thanks. Presumably he got this much at Heywood! Rosewater must be paying him at least $400

There are definately blokes in Div 4 on more money than Shep
and they have not even played close to the level of football
he has played.

The bloke could be making a lot more elsewere.

any player taking $200 a week off their club to play div 4 is not acting in the clubs best interest..why is he worth $200?

cant he play for nothing and for the love of the game?

thats $3600 a year for one player..do you know how many players subs or drinks at the bar that is?

if they have 2 of them at the club its $7200..$7200 to pay out to 2 players to play at your club..thats madness..not like rosewater is over flowing with great facilities..and nearly relegated..yeah keep taking the $$ as the club struggles

people trying to justify paying huge amounts of $$ to players to play in div 4-7 have no idea..they need to spend time on a committee and see how much money a club needs to operate with

200 a game for a player that is worth alot more, thats worth it IMO
and he is supposedly being payed directly by a sponsor or something like that
nothing to do with the club!!!
also, subs may be a problem at roseater but making money over the bar i couldnt see a problem
no doubt the people around that club would love a few cold ones!!!!
also who's to say that he hasnt given up a job prospect somewhere else to play footy
meaning that 200 he gets is really just reinburstment for the money he has lost out on!!!!!

you cant try and justify it anyway you like..but its just opinions..imo its stupid and will he play at rosies if they get relegated..or if port districts offered him more $..he would be out of there in a flash

mercenaries do nothing for your club..better off looking in your own backyard and finding good juniors from your area and encouraging them to your club with gifts like boots, incentives etc..anyway..proof is in the pudding..lets see if it works for rosies
