yeah Thursday/Friday would be the quieter days. Surely if you have spoken with the office they should be throwing in a round for next to nothing if you are looking to become a member.

Well, I did make several lines of enquiry ( options 5/6/7 day - payment plans - 9 hole etc ) and spent probably 30 minutes talking to the lady. I did ask do you have a "try before you buy" round on offer.....err, no. A definitive "No" was the answer.

I'm at Alberton so my options for local courses are pretty limited, it's West Lakes, Regency ( no thanks, don't like the course ) or travel down to North Haven. Now you'd not pay as much at North Haven at a guess, but it isn't very convenient when it comes to a quick 9 early morning round now, is it?

Nothing really. Other than the greens keepers.

I don't go into the city for work benny, just to Torrensville.....but Torrensville to North Haven would be 45 minutes at best in the afternoon and the same if not more if I tried to slip in* a quick one in the morning.

I'm biased but it good ;)

Only gripes I have is the bunkers (thousands of the bastards and inconsistent sand) and a couple of greens are out of step pace wise with the others.

Scoopon have also got McCraken from $99 per person for a round, room for the night and breakfast, when booking for 4-6.

Already sent texts out to a few mates to get a round in then a night on the lash down there before heading home.

Gee what a cracking day it was to be on the course
Some of the golf replicated what we saw at the Masters both good and bad

Maybe next time!

Started really well today, and was 5 up on dissident after 5 holes, but then he started playing like he normally does, and he picked up 9 shots in the next 8 holes, and despite me finishing off well he still won by 3.

I ended up shooting 90 and he shot 87.

My long and short games were really good but I just couldn't hit the greens with my mid-short irons

Not too bad, some of the greens were a bit patchy, as were the fairways, but for $19 a round on weekdays I really am nitpicking. Compared with north lakes or regency I like it much better for a 9 hole course.

There was basically nobody there either so our round only took like 3 hours 20.

Haven't been to north lakes yet. But spend a lot of time at Regency Park, both playing and working. Interesting to hear some feedback on what you do and don't like about the course etc.

The 1st 4 holes are about to be upgraded soon to match the others.

Well according to my local messenger some motor bike enthusiasts don't like Regency either....;)
