Positions after final rd?

Postby Peterxtc » Tue Feb 14, 2006 4:56 pm

Must have already been done. It's also a guessing game I know, but how about trying to pick the finishing spots 1 - 9?
Here goes:
1. Sturt (not using any 'head' here just heart).
2. Norf
3. Port.
4. Dogs.
5. Eagles.
6. Norwood.
7. Westies.
8. Bays.
9. South.
Its a weak guess as when I look at it I've got the same five as last year! Someone will 'fall out' and I guess the blues have to be favs for that but I can't bring myself to predict a none finals year with five in from only 9. Who would move in from 5-9? Everyones 2nd team Westies of course!

I voted for Norwood but it wouldn't suprise me if Westies had a season similar to 04 and snuck into the 5, a lot will have to do with injuries.
South at the bottom of those 3 wth Glenelg clearly bottom but IMHO Norwood and West will pushing hard for that 5th spot with Sturt.

Of course I'm biased, but as I've said previously, it is amazing what happens in sport when everyone is pulling in the right direction.....

You just never know, you just never know......

In round 4 1990, after we beat them by 15 goals, who would of thought South would have made the finals, same with Westies at half time in Rd 9 in 1991....Footy is a funny game......
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Suspect, without any bias, :D , that Norwood can replace Sturt in the five.

Where is the option for none of the above?
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

We can think REB which some others apparently can't.

The point is what if you think that none of them can make the finals - ie the 5 will be the same next year - there is no option available for that.

I think norwood look the most promising to make the top 5 this year, i'm actually hoping it stays the same, but i'd be willing to swap the pies for Norwood

You'll be looking for another appointment with us then Doggies. We'll turn up if you want us to, but we only know how to win on grand final day.
My prediction is for Westies to move up.
South are bound to get in one of these days, and should have last year, but their form reversal was unbelievable, perhaps if the trouble makers have all moved on they could possibly be a chance.
Too many changes down at the Bay for them to be a chance.
I could choose Norwood but that would be stupid and based on pity alone. :P
Port to completely fall to peices and drop out.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
1915, 1919, 1926, 1932, 1940, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1974, 1976, 2002, 2016, 2017

I'd be happy to play anyone cause it meant we've made another one but hope its not the wiggles again. It's getting monotonous beating them. I've always wanted to beat Port in a GF - payback - but you may be right - lots of rumours from wharfieland.
